REPORTS TO: Deputy Director
LOCATION: Deep East Texas Workforce Development Area
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Employee
Career Team is seeking a Virtual Instructor to serve the Deep East Texas Workforce Development Area. The Virtual Instructor conducts comprehensive assessments of job seekers, provides tailored training to enhance their soft skills, offers guidance on resume writing and interview techniques, and connects them with job opportunities aligned with their career goals. Work is performed under the supervision of the Deputy Director.
Your Impact on Career Team’s Success:
Organize and facilitate workshops and job-readiness sessions, delivered virtually and in person, to prepare job seekers for employment
Use Career Edge to deliver training sessions that enhance job seekers' soft skills, including communication, time management, teamwork, and problem-solving
Offer guidance and instruction on resume writing, cover letters, job search strategies, and interview preparation
Facilitate mock interviews, provide feedback, and coach job seekers to succeed in real interviews
Collaborate closely with Career Advisors and the broader team so that trained job seekers are connected to placement and support services
Maintain accurate records of training sessions, client progress, job placements, and employer engagements
Stay informed about industry trends, job market dynamics, and employer expectations to provide relevant, effective support
Organize and facilitate workshops, job fairs, and networking events to connect job seekers with potential employers
Prepare and deliver reports on training outcomes, job placements, and success stories to demonstrate program effectiveness and impact
Approach each day and task with a "ZAG" mindset
Other duties and projects as needed
This position requires a mix of onsite and virtual work. The selected candidate must be available to work onsite at locations throughout the greater Deep East Texas Workforce Development Area, with some instruction delivered virtually.
To Qualify for This Role, You Must Have:
Associate's degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
3+ years of experience in job development or training activities
Knowledge of the WIOA, TANF, and SNAP programs and other workforce program requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Google suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, and Drive
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment
Experience working with culturally diverse populations and at-risk individuals
Exceptional time management, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines under pressure
Adherence to the principles of Extreme Customer Service in all interactions with internal and external customers
Willingness to uphold Career Team’s core values and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration
A Valid Driver's License

Salary: $38,000 - $40,000/yr
