TITLE: Career Advisor WIOA Adult and Dislocated Worker

REPORTS TO: WIOA Program Manager

LOCATION: Deep East Texas Workforce Development Area

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time, Exempt Employee

Career Team is looking to hire a Career Advisor AD/DW who will perform professional work providing career counseling, intensive case management, and follow-up services to participants eligible for the WIOA Adult and Dislocated Worker programs. The Career Advisor guides jobseekers toward employment and training goals, removes barriers to success, and ensures accurate and compliant case management. Work is performed under the supervision of the WIOA Program Manager.

Your Impact on Career TEAM’s Success:

Provide information and case management services to community members interested in workforce services

Complete intake and eligibility determination for the WIOA Adult and Dislocated Worker programs

Assess jobseekers' employment, abilities, and training needs through interviewing, testing, and other methods

Serve as a liaison between workforce development programs and community partners and resources

Enter data into Work In Texas and process clients through any participant information system as required

Guide jobseekers through the preparation of individual employment plans (IEP) based on their specific occupational goals

Stay on top of labor market trends and best practices in career and training paths

Counsel clients on available job opportunities, training programs, and other services

Refer individuals to appropriate services, training programs, or job opportunities and follow up on those activities

Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, job clubs, and other group presentations for clients

Assist participants in removing barriers to employment and training

Follow all policies, procedures, and regulations related to eligibility documentation

Maintain accurate individual case files in Work In Texas for each registered customer, ensuring each file contains all required eligibility documents and meets compliance requirements

Meet and/or exceed program benchmarks and participate in all staff-related events as required, including training, staff meetings, and individual supervision

Complete all required reports within the data management system

Approach each day and task with a "ZAG" mindset

Other duties and projects as needed

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

To Qualify for This Role, You Must Have:

Strong communication skills and knowledge about community resources

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-thought-out decisions

Computer literate with MS Word and Excel skills at minimum, and the ability to learn specialized databases and software systems

Ability to work in a variety of settings with a culturally diverse customer base and be culturally sensitive

Ability to serve as a role model to customers and motivate them toward achieving goals

Ability to meet and exceed set goals and objectives

Excellent interpersonal, time management, customer service, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written)

Knowledge of the WIOA Adult and Dislocated Worker programs and other workforce program requirements

A demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, and maintaining a high level of confidentiality

A Valid Driver's License

Additional Skills/Knowledge Career Team Would Love for This Role:

Master’s or MBA degree

Knowledge of the Deep East Texas region and its employers, community organizations, and workforce partners

Bilingual or multilingual

Strong multitasking abilities and a proactive approach to tasks

Training in Trauma Informed Care, evidence-based practice, and/or whole family services

Salary: $37,000-$41,000/yr

Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Career TEAM offers a competitive benefits package including healthcare, dental, and personal/vacation time
