What is the role

This is a full-time role based onsite at our client's location four days per week, working from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

As a Support Engineer, you will provide technical support to clients through troubleshooting, system maintenance, and IT equipment and software configuration. You'll collaborate with the Service Delivery team to deliver effective solutions, support projects, and meet agreed service standards.

The duties and responsibilities of Support Engineer include but are not limited to the following:

Provide remote and onsite support for client networks, systems, servers, and IT infrastructure, ensuring service requests are resolved within SLA targets.

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, network, and system issues, escalating where required.

Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade PCs, servers, network equipment, virtual machines, and cloud platforms including Microsoft 365 and Azure.

Manage Windows Server environments, including server administration, VM builds, and ongoing virtual environment management.

Manage user identities and access by administering user accounts, Active Directory, group policies, permissions, and identity and access management processes.

Support system deployments, upgrades, maintenance activities, and client projects.

Maintain secure, reliable, and high-performing client environments through proactive monitoring and issue resolution.

Collaborate with end users and stakeholders to deliver effective technical solutions and exceptional customer service.

Manage tickets, maintain accurate documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Who we are looking for

Successful candidate must possess:

3+ years' experience supporting and administering Windows Server environments and business IT systems.

Experience providing IT support within school or education environments, with an understanding of the unique technology needs of staff, students, and learning systems.

Proven experience in server management, including monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades.

Experience building, managing, and supporting virtual machine (VM) environments.

Strong system administration skills across Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft 365 and SharePoint.

Demonstrated customer service experience with the ability to build strong client relationships.

Applicants must hold, or be willing to obtain, a valid Police Check and Working with Children Check (WWCC).

Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and organisational skills.

Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and manage workloads effectively.

Willingness to travel to client sites as required.

Exposure to Azure and cloud-based technologies is desirable

Entry-level understanding of networking concepts and infrastructure is a plus

Relevant IT qualifications, certifications, or equivalent industry experience.
