Senior Business IT Engineer, Atlassian Cloud
Your Mission
As our Senior Atlassian Engineer, you won't just be managing Jira, you will drive architectural strategy at an enterprise scale for a high-growth fintech ecosystem. You will serve as a key technical partner to cross-functional teams, solving complex integration challenges, building advanced automations, and shaping our governance model to support fast-moving business needs. Plus, you will have direct impact by mentoring junior engineers and helping elevate our team's overall technical capability.
What You’ll do
Lead Architecture & Governance: Design, configure, and optimise our Atlassian Cloud products at an enterprise scale while establishing standardised configurations, schemes, and governance models to prevent system bloat.
Drive Advanced Solutions: Act as a subject matter expert to analyze complex business requirements from cross-functional stakeholders, translating them into scalable, robust technical solutions from needs analysis to delivery and documentation.
Empower Data-Driven Decisions: Design advanced Jira reports, high-level dashboards, and customized planning views for leadership and various business units.
Automate & Integrate: Build advanced automations and integrations with other enterprise tools using 3rd party apps and REST APIs.
Mentorship & Enablement: Conduct specialised training for employees, advocate for Atlassian best practices across the company, and mentor junior team members to elevate the team's overall technical capability.
Who You Are
A Proven Expert: You have mastered Atlassian Cloud systems (no on-prem or data center Atlassian systems in house) and understand how to architect them for scale.
Experienced: You bring 3+ years of hands-on experience administering, engineering, and scaling Atlassian cloud systems in a large, fast-paced, and dynamic enterprise or scale-up environment, on top of several years as a Business IT Engineer.
A Technical Problem Solver: You have hands-on experience with Assets (formerly Insight), advanced automation (native, JMWE, ScriptRunner) and utilising REST APIs. Experience with apps like Extension for JSM, EazyBI, and Xray is highly desired, as well as scripting in Groovy, JavaScript, or Python.
A Strategic Communicator: You excel at stakeholder management. You are comfortable consulting with internal users daily, pushing back on anti-patterns, and steering teams toward sustainable best practices.
