Warehouse Operations Manager II
Zone 5 Technologies is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Warehouse Operations Manager to lead all physical logistics and materials management activities. This position will play a critical role in establishing scalable inventory systems, driving compliance with aerospace quality standards (AS9100, ITAR), and ensuring efficient material flow through the supply chain.
This leader will build and manage a small team and interface with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Program Management to ensure on-time delivery of parts and systems for internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities
Own and manage all functions related to shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material handling.
Develop and enforce procedures and processes for incoming inspection, warehouse organization, and outbound logistics.
Ensure compliance with export regulations (ITAR / EAR), aerospace quality standards (AS9100), and internal traceability requirements.
Work closely with Program Managers and Manufacturing to support build schedules and material requirements planning (MRP).
Maintain accurate inventory records through ERP/WMS systems; perform root cause analysis for discrepancies.
Collaborate with suppliers and freight forwarders to optimize cost, speed, and reliability of deliveries.
Implement scalable systems and lean practices to support growth and future multi-site operations.
Lead a team of warehouse technicians and material handlers; establish KPIs for performance and safety.
Support internal and external audits related to inventory control and logistics.
Manage the logistics of sensitive or classified materials, in compliance with government regulations.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years experience in logistics, inventory control, or warehouse operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Experience in Aerospace, Defense, or a high-reliability manufacturing environment.
Strong working knowledge of AS9100, ITAR, DFARS, and export compliance requirements.
Proficient with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, DELTEK, etc.)
Ability to manage and prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Experience building or scaling warehouse operations in a startup or small company environment.
Certifications such as APICS CPIM/CSCP, PMP, or Lean Six Sigma.
Familiarity with government contracting and FAR/DFARS compliance.
Pay range for this role
$125,000—$160,000 USD
