This role owns Product and Engineering for Back of House, one of the most complex, multi-service domains on the Mews platform. Back of House covers the operational core that hotel teams rely on every day, and it needs someone who can set the product direction and run the engineering behind it, together. That combined mandate, product and engineering under one person at VP level, is rare, and the scale of hospitality technology right now makes it worth doing well.

You'll own the full domain: strategy, roadmap, and the engineering org that builds it, working closely and collaboratively with globally distributed teams across multiple time zones, and reporting into senior leadership. This isn't a narrow platform mandate. It spans product and engineering together, with the scope to make real calls on both, and the trust to run it as one connected domain.

Back of House software has to stay reliable at all times and keep improving, without ever pausing customer delivery to get there. The next phase of this role is about applying AI directly to the systems that support hotel teams, not just internal tooling, at a scale most engineering leaders never get to work at.

What You Would Do

Own product and engineering strategy for Back of House end to end, across a genuinely multi-service architecture.

Run globally distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones, building the structures that let them ship together.

Build out a management team and develop senior ICs, growing a culture that holds up at scale.

Improve reliability, performance and technical debt as ongoing disciplines, without stopping delivery to do it.

Decide where AI genuinely belongs in the Back of House product, and ship AI-driven improvements that change how hotel teams work day to day.

AI Fluency Level 4: in this role that means going beyond using AI to move faster yourself. You'll decide where AI belongs in the Back of House product, understand the underlying models and infrastructure well enough to make real engineering calls about them, and have already shipped something where AI was a core part of the product, not a feature added on afterwards.

What You Would Bring

Combined Product and Engineering ownership at VP level, with clear, end-to-end ownership of a complex, multi-service product domain.

A track record running globally distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones.

Experience operating inside a scaling SaaS business, ideally Series C through pre-IPO or recently public, as an operator rather than an adviser.

Effective people leadership: managing managers, developing senior ICs, and building healthy team cultures at scale, plus a track record of improving reliability, performance and technical debt without stopping delivery.

AI Fluency Level 4 or the equivalent hands-on experience: you've shipped AI as a genuine part of a product, not just used it to speed up your own workflow.

Nice To Have

Hands-on experience in hospitality technology: PMS, POS, channel management, revenue management, or closely adjacent systems.

Travel tech experience (airlines, GDS, travel management companies), or comparable operationally critical, high-availability B2B platforms.

Founder or early-stage builder experience, having built products from zero to scale.
