ABOUT THE TEAM:

The SRE team is part of Platform Engineering. Its mission is to own the reliability system: the standards, tooling, and platform services that determine how reliable Tide is by default. We measure success by SLO attainment and the reliability our members experience.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Tide is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the SRE team that owns our reliability system.

As an Engineering Manager, SRE, you will:

Lead: Hire, coach, and set clear goals for the SRE team.

Define SLOs: Agree SLOs with service owners and run the error budget policy.

Own observability: Run the observability platform 24/7 in production, including SLOs and platform alerting.

Release safely: Build deployment guardrails such as canary rollouts and auto-rollback.

Build resilience: Detect partner degradation early with synthetic monitoring and vendor scorecards.

Remove toil: Automate manual incident work, such as recording incident timelines and drafting status updates.

Fix systemically: Turn post-mortem findings and incident patterns into cross-cutting platform fixes.

Measure outcomes: Track SLO attainment and member-facing reliability metrics.

Support: Advise product engineering teams on reliability.
