Responsibilities

1. System Reliability

Ensure the stability, availability, and performance of the company's core business infrastructure across AWS and Tencent Cloud globally; accountable for production environment SLAs.

Maintain stable operation and troubleshooting of the service mesh based on Kubernetes + Envoy/Istio architecture; drive gateway-layer governance standards.

Define and implement SLO/SLI/Error Budget frameworks to continuously improve service reliability.

Identify system bottlenecks and single points of failure; drive architectural improvements.

2. Automation & Engineering Efficiency

Develop operations automation tools: capacity assessment, auto-scaling, self-healing, and change automation.

Build SRE platforms: lead or contribute to building SRE platforms (capacity management, cost analysis, service health dashboards) and iterate continuously with the team.

API integration: interface with monitoring systems, cloud platforms, and Kubernetes APIs to enable automated data workflows.

Chaos Engineering: design and implement chaos engineering practices to proactively validate system fault tolerance.

IaC & CI/CD: advance Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / Helm / GitOps) and CI/CD pipeline optimization to improve release safety and reduce manual operations.

3. Capacity Planning & Performance Optimization

Establish and continuously iterate capacity assessment frameworks; develop scaling plans aligned with business growth projections.

Identify performance bottlenecks; drive architectural optimization and cost efficiency (redundancy optimization, cost reduction).

Participate in capacity estimation and scaling plans for major promotions and high-traffic events.

Build cost-efficiency metrics; track and optimize per-unit business cost

Requirements

Development Skills

Proficient in at least one programming language: Python / Go / Java / Node.js (Python or Go preferred).

Able to independently deliver end-to-end features: from requirements analysis → design → coding → testing → deployment.

Backend development experience: familiar with RESTful API design and databases (SQL/NoSQL).

Strong scripting skills: able to quickly write Shell/Python scripts to solve day-to-day operations issues.

SRE Fundamentals

3+ years of SRE/DevOps experience with large-scale distributed systems.

Linux expertise: solid understanding of Linux internals, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

Container technologies: proficient in Docker and Kubernetes with production-level K8s management experience.

Monitoring & alerting: experienced with Prometheus / Grafana / ELK; able to design monitoring metrics and alerting strategies.

CI/CD: familiar with GitLab CI / Jenkins / ArgoCD with hands-on automated deployment experience.

Soft Skills

Data-driven mindset: make decisions backed by metrics and data.

Problem-solving: quickly identify root causes and drive cross-team collaboration to resolve issues.

Ownership: take full accountability for the reliability of owned services; proactively identify and optimize issues.

Fast learner: able to quickly ramp up on new technologies and tools.

Nice to Have

Experience building internal operations platforms from scratch, with full-stack development skills to independently deliver a complete platform.

Familiarity with cloud-native technologies (Istio, Service Mesh, Operator pattern) and service governance (rate limiting, degradation, circuit breaking).

Hands-on Chaos Engineering experience.

Practical experience in capacity planning and cost optimization (FinOps).

Operations experience in finance, trading systems, or high-concurrency scenarios, including capacity assurance for major promotions or high-traffic events.
