Senior Technical Accounting & Transaction Specialist
This role puts you in charge of the technical accounting behind complex transactions at Mews, and in the middle of building the systems and controls Finance will run on. You’ll help set the foundations for ERP, consolidation and SOX work rather than inherit them, while the team redesigns how it works with AI.
You’ll work closely with Reporting, Finance leadership and our external auditors, and you’ll have a real say in policy and controls, not just in carrying them out.
As the business takes on more complex transactions and its reporting scrutiny grows, Finance needs a technical accounting lead who makes sure the answers are right, documented and built to hold up, and who makes the way the team reaches them faster and more consistent.
What you would do
Provide technical accounting judgment on complex transactions and new arrangements under IFRS and US GAAP, including financial due diligence, with memos that hold up to audit scrutiny.
Lead the implementation and integration of new ERP and consolidation systems, and the accounting processes that run on them.
Build out the internal controls for SOX implementation, and own accounting policies and procedures alongside Reporting.
Redesign how technical analysis, reconciliations and policy reviews get done using AI, and build the approach the wider team follows.
Work with external auditors through audit engagements and support the preparation of the annual report.
AI Fluency Level 3: This role operates at Level 3, which here means going well beyond using AI to draft faster. You’ll redesign how Finance prepares technical accounting analysis and checks its outputs, build approaches others can follow, and actively question and verify what the AI produces, because audit-grade conclusions can’t rest on an unchecked draft.

What you would bring
5+ years of accounting and reporting experience under IFRS and US GAAP, with the judgment to critically review financial statements and spot accounting or process gaps.
Higher education in economics or a related field, and fluent English.
Advanced Excel skills, plus working experience with database tools and ERP or consolidation systems.
Project management skills, with experience coordinating complex financial projects or system implementations.
AI Fluency Level 3 or equivalent hands-on experience: you’ve redesigned how you or your team work with AI, and you verify its output before it reaches a conclusion.
Nice to have
ACCA, CIMA or a similar accounting qualification.
Experience with transaction accounting or M&A.
Experience working with auditors on controls-heavy or SOX-related work.
