About the role

Gruns is hiring a Senior Specialist, Supplier Quality. Our supplier network is growing fast, and so is the workload behind it. Between our own comanufacturers and the added scope from Unilever, supplier qualification, audits, and corrective actions have outgrown what our Quality leadership team can own alone. This role exists to take that on: full ownership of supplier quality across our comanufacturer and supplier network, from qualification through ongoing performance.

This role is part of our remote HQ! We have a fully remote, high-trust work environment - and also come together on a biannual basis for amazing off-sites where we can connect IRL. This role also requires monthly travel to supplier and co-manufacturer facilities.

In this role, you will:

Own the supplier qualification program end to end, covering suppliers, comanufacturers, copackers, laboratories, and distribution partners

Conduct and coordinate on-site audits across our facility network, including our distribution centers and our growing comanufacturer base

Lead supplier corrective action (SCAR) management, from root cause investigation through effectiveness verification

Build and maintain supplier scorecards and run routine performance reviews

Verify GFSI, cGMP, food safety, and regulatory compliance at supplier and comanufacturer sites

Support new supplier onboarding and quality readiness for new product launches

Travel monthly to supplier and comanufacturer facilities. Most visits run 1-4 days depending on whether it's a check-in or a full audit.

We're looking for someone who:

Brings 2-5 years of experience in supplier quality, food safety, QA, or supply chain compliance

Is HACCP certified with hands-on experience applying it in a supplier or manufacturing environment

Holds an Internal Auditor certification and has used it to lead real audits, not just earn the credential

Has worked directly within a GFSI certification scheme (SQF, BRCGS, FSSC 22000, or similar)

Has run or supported supplier audits and managed corrective action processes from start to finish

Knows FDA food safety regulations and supplier verification requirements

Is comfortable with regular travel, including multi-day audit trips to facilities across states

Approach to the role:

Spots risk before it becomes a problem. Proactive, not reactive

Builds real working relationships with suppliers, not just paper trails

Organized and data-driven. Makes decisions based on evidence, not gut feel

Communicates clearly and follows through on every commitment

Comfortable jumping into whatever the team needs. We're a small, scrappy group and everyone pitches in

Compensation & Benefits:

At Grüns, we're committed to providing a competitive total compensation package — grounded in market data that considers our size, stage, industry, and location. For this role, the base salary range is $90,000-$115,000 plus bonus depending on experience, paired with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being and growth of our team.
