About the role

We're hiring a Senior Retail Operations Specialist to run the daily engine behind Grüns retail fulfillment. You'll ensure every order ships accurately, on time, and in full - protecting revenue, keeping retail partners happy, and catching problems before they become costly. This role connects internal ops, 3PLs, and retail accounts, and owns the proactive inventory and OTIF work that keeps our retail business scaling cleanly. This role reports to our Director of Retail Operations.

This role is part of our remote HQ! We have a fully remote, high-trust work environment - and also come together on a biannual basis for amazing off-sites where we can connect IRL.

In this role, you will:

Own day-to-day retail order fulfillment, monitoring and resolving "where's my product" issues before they turn into late or incomplete shipments.

Proactively manage base inventory to get ahead of shortages - flagging risk before orders are shorted, not after.

Process new orders accurately and on schedule to keep product flowing without disruption.

Run proactive inventory reviews for promotions and new item launches to ensure plans execute cleanly.

Track OTIF performance, chargebacks, and late trucks, and drive the process improvements that move those numbers.

Manage 3PL and logistics partner relationships, resolving escalations and holding partners to SLA.

Build and document SOPs across retail ops - receiving, lot/expiry management, promotions, and returns - so the function scales with the business.

Identify tools (including AI) and workflow changes that make the role and the broader retail ops function more efficient.

We're looking for someone who:

Has 3+ years of experience in retail operations, order fulfillment, or replenishment in a CPG environment, with a genuinely analytical approach to the work.

Has direct experience with Walmart and Club channel (Sam's Club, Costco), and ideally distributors like UNFI or KeHE.

Understands EDI order management, lot codes, and expiration handling in a retail fulfillment context.

Is fluent in Excel or Google Sheets - pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, basic modeling - and comfortable with ERP/WMS systems (Fulfil.io a strong plus).

Communicates clearly and confidently with both internal teams and external retail/logistics partners.

Is comfortable using AI tools like Claude to move faster and think more clearly, not just check a box.

Has a track record of finding and fixing inefficiency, not just maintaining what exists.

Approach to the role:

Proactive - flags problems before they become fires, not after.

Organized under pressure - manages competing priorities without dropping the important ones.

Independent - doesn't need to be managed to stay ahead of the work.

Data-driven - makes the call based on facts, not assumptions.

Curious and iterative - always looking for a cleaner, faster way to do it.

Compensation & Benefits:

At Grüns, we're committed to providing a competitive total compensation package — grounded in market data that considers our size, stage, industry, and location. For this role, the base salary range is $90,000 - $100,000 plus bonus depending on experience, paired with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being and growth of our team.
