Senior Manager, Commercial Strategy
About the Role
The Senior Manager, Commercial Strategy will be a high-impact member of the Australian team, reporting directly to the GM for Australia and working closely with leaders across Growth, Product, Operations, Clinical, Finance and Analytics. You’ll help build a clear view of how the Australian business is performing, evaluate where we can deploy capital most effectively and turn complex analysis into practical recommendations for the leadership team. This is an opportunity to work across the full Australian business, support some of its most important growth decisions and develop from a strong strategist into a trusted commercial operator.
What Success Looks Like
In your first six months, you will help move the Australian business into a position where we can consistently identify, compare and act on the most effective opportunities to deploy capital for growth. You’ll build strong working relationships with FP&A and functional leaders, improve how we understand commercial performance and introduce greater structure and rigour into our investment decisions.
As your understanding of the business and credibility with leaders grow, you’ll take increasing ownership of commercial recommendations and cross-functional decisions.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Build our view of commercial performance. Work with FP&A, Finance and Analytics to maintain a clear view of performance across revenue, acquisition, conversion, retention, gross margin and contribution margin. Identify the underlying drivers and translate them into useful insights for the Australian leadership team.
Support planning and forecasting. Partner with FP&A on annual planning, reforecasting and scenario modelling. Help functional leaders understand how their decisions affect financial performance and maintain a realistic view of expected outcomes.
Improve how we allocate capital. Build the analysis and commercial cases that help the GM and leadership team compare investment opportunities across conditions, products, channels and patient segments. Make clear recommendations about where the business should focus its capital, people and attention.
Develop our understanding of unit economics. Analyse customer acquisition cost, lifetime value, payback, retention and margins across products, channels and patient cohorts. Help teams understand the commercial levers they can influence.
Identify growth and profitability opportunities. Investigate opportunities across pricing, packaging, retention, product mix, acquisition and margin. Partner with functional leaders to translate the analysis into action and track whether the expected value is realised.
Evaluate new opportunities and partnerships. Assess potential treatments, conditions, partnerships and business models. Structure the opportunity, develop the commercial case and provide clear recommendations to leadership.
Lead important cross-functional work. Take on commercial questions that do not sit neatly within one function. Structure ambiguous problems, bring together the right stakeholders and help move the work from analysis through to implementation.
Improve our commercial operating rhythms. Help establish the tools, frameworks and forums that allow leaders to understand performance, compare opportunities and make timely decisions.
