Salesforce Commerce Cloud Solution Architect – B2C & B2B Commerce

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Commerce Cloud Solution Architect to lead the architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise-scale digital commerce solutions across Salesforce B2C Commerce (SFCC), Salesforce B2B Commerce, and the broader Salesforce ecosystem. This role will serve as a senior technical advisor to clients, business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in SFCC/Demandware, headless and composable commerce, enterprise integrations, and Salesforce platform architecture, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead architecture and technical design for Salesforce B2C Commerce (SFCC/Demandware) implementations, migrations, and enhancements.

Design and deliver composable, headless, and API-first commerce architectures using Salesforce Commerce Cloud.

Define modern storefront architectures leveraging Composable Storefront, PWA Kit, Managed Runtime, React, Node.js, and related technologies.

Establish architecture standards and best practices for performance, scalability, security, availability, maintainability, and code quality.

Architect Salesforce B2B Commerce solutions supporting buyer groups, account hierarchies, complex pricing, catalogs, entitlements, and ordering processes.

Define scalable data models, automation, customizations, and extension patterns supporting complex B2B commerce requirements.

Design enterprise integrations between Salesforce Commerce Cloud and OMS, ERP, CRM, payment gateways, tax engines, CDPs, and other enterprise platforms.

Define integration strategies for inventory, pricing, customer, product, and order synchronization.

Architect solutions using REST APIs, microservices, Platform Events, Change Data Capture, middleware, and event-driven integration patterns.

Design solutions leveraging Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and other capabilities within the Salesforce Platform.

Define appropriate security, identity, access, sharing, and governance models across Salesforce applications.

Translate business and functional requirements into scalable technical architectures and implementation strategies.

Lead technical discovery sessions, solution workshops, architecture reviews, and technical assessments.

Troubleshoot and provide architectural direction for complex commerce and Salesforce platform challenges.

Serve as a primary technical advisor to clients, business stakeholders, delivery teams, and engineering leadership.

Develop technical roadmaps, solution estimates, implementation approaches, dependencies, and risk assessments.

Mentor developers, technical leads, and architects across Salesforce Commerce and related technologies.

Promote engineering excellence through architecture governance, development standards, code quality, and delivery best practices.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

8+ years of experience designing and delivering Salesforce-based enterprise solutions.

5+ years of hands-on architecture experience with Salesforce B2C Commerce (SFCC/Demandware).

Deep understanding of Salesforce Commerce Cloud architecture, capabilities, and implementation best practices.

Proven experience designing headless, composable, and API-first commerce solutions.

Hands-on experience with Composable Storefront, PWA Kit, Managed Runtime, and modern commerce deployment models.

Strong understanding of digital commerce processes, including catalog, pricing, promotions, checkout, payments, customer experience, fulfillment, and order management.

Experience architecting and implementing Salesforce B2B Commerce solutions.

Working knowledge of the Salesforce Core Platform, including Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, APIs, data models, and Salesforce security architecture.

Strong knowledge of REST APIs, API design, microservices, event-driven architecture, and enterprise integration patterns.

Experience designing integrations across Commerce, ERP, CRM, OMS, payments, tax, inventory, and customer-data ecosystems.

Demonstrated experience working in consulting, client-facing, or enterprise delivery environments.

Experience leading architecture discussions and large-scale digital commerce transformation initiatives.

Excellent communication, presentation, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.

Strong ability to align technical architecture and implementation decisions with business objectives.

Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with MuleSoft or comparable enterprise integration platforms.

Experience with React, Node.js, JavaScript, and modern frontend architectures.

Experience with Salesforce Order Management, Experience Cloud, and Customer Data Platform technologies such as Salesforce Data Cloud.

Experience delivering complex, high-volume, enterprise-grade digital commerce platforms.

Experience defining architecture governance, development standards, and technical delivery frameworks.
