TITLE: Resource Room Specialist

REPORTS TO:  Deputy Director

LOCATION:  Deep East Texas Workforce Development Area

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time, Non Exempt Employee

Career Team is looking to hire a Resource Room Specialist responsible for triaging customers and assisting with customer flow and needs. This role provides an added layer of customer service, assessing customers' needs and initiating a warm handoff to all services. Work is performed under the supervision of the Deputy Director.

Your Impact on Career TEAM’s Success:

Serve as the primary initial liaison between customers and the services provided within the Workforce Solutions Centers

Greet visitors warmly and ensure they are comfortable

Triage customers to ensure their needs are met and exceptional customer service is provided to all individuals

Assist customers with computer use and online assessments

Critique resumes and letters of introduction, and provide job search assistance and resources to individuals in the resource room

Re-engage customers by discussing the range of available services and their potential benefits

Deliver dynamic presentations both in person and virtually

Create workshop schedules and invite partners to present based on participant needs

Call customers waiting for a space and book them a room to meet in

Provide and train on resources available within the Center for customers and staff alike

Ensure the resource area is tidy and welcoming for customers

Coordinate office activities

Request feedback from customers to continually improve the customer experience

Approach each day and task with a "ZAG" mindset

Other duties and projects as needed

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location and within the community.

To Qualify for This Role, You Must Have:

Associate's degree required, or comparable experience

Knowledge of the WIOA, TANF, and SNAP programs and other workforce program requirements

Ability to listen to customers, analyze expressed needs, and use good judgment in suggesting solutions or next steps

Comfortable assisting customers with computers and office equipment (copier, printer, and similar)

Ability to work in a variety of settings with a culturally diverse customer base and be culturally sensitive

Ability to meet and/or exceed set goals and objectives

Excellent interpersonal, time management, customer service, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written)

A demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, and maintaining a high level of confidentiality

Adherence to the principles of Extreme Customer Service in all interactions with internal and external customers

A Valid Driver's License

Additional Skills/Knowledge Career TEAM Would Love for This Role:

Bilingual or Multilingual

Strong multitasking abilities and proactive approach to tasks

Training in Trauma Informed Care, evidence-based practice, empathy driven service delivery

Salary: $33,500 - $36,000/yr

Travel: As needed
