About the Role

Outside, Inc. is seeking a Projectionist to manage the technical requirements and overall production responsibilities of venues while on the road during the annual Warren Miller Film Tour. Warren Miller Entertainment is one of the largest, most established, and successful action sports film companies today, with more than 76 years of snow sports filmmaking experience. The annual Warren Miller Film Tour (training in Boulder for 7–10 days, followed by road travel) continues the legacy of the brand, reaching more skiers, snowboarders, and outdoor enthusiasts than any other snow sports film to date.

The primary responsibility is the technical execution of event production across a multi-venue film tour. The Projectionist manages all production aspects, including video playback, audio alignment, equipment inventory, shipping/logistics, and oversight of local theater technical crews. This is a hands-on crew role requiring active participation as part of a mobile 4-person crew (alongside the Road Manager, Emcee, and Activation & Content Coordinator) over a 5–7 week schedule.

Note: This role is fully mobile with constant travel required and includes sharing lodging/accommodations with another member of the crew.

MC Collaboration: Foster a strong working relationship with the Master of Ceremonies (M.C.) to ensure smooth audio cues, timing, and seamless run-of-show execution.

Technical Problem Solving: Offer innovative, on-the-fly solutions to overcome production challenges at various venues with differing equipment setups.

Equipment, Inventory & Logistics

Inventory Management: Compile pre-tour production inventory and perform regular equipment assessments, maintenance, and status reporting throughout the tour.

Shipping & Ground Movement: Coordinate day-to-day ground movement between venues, and arrange air cargo or 3rd-party ground shipping for production gear as needed.

Pre-Show Onscreen Displays: Double-check and deliver the correct pre-show onscreen displays and slides to align with sponsor requirements.

Pre-Show Setup & Physical Operations

Active Crew Collaboration: Work closely within the 4-person road crew (Road Manager, Projectionist, Emcee, Activation & Content Coordinator) to ensure smooth, efficient, and professional nightly operations.

Heavy Event Setup & Equipment: Assist with the physical lifting, transportation, setup, and teardown of tour gear and staging equipment (must be able to lift more than 50 lbs regularly).

Screen Construction: Collaborate with all 4 crew members to set up equipment at each venue, including hands-on construction and assembly of the projection screen when required.

Administrative & Feedback
