About the Role

Outside, Inc. is seeking a Master of Ceremonies (M.C.) to introduce our film and our brands on a nightly basis to large audiences across the country while on the road during the Warren Miller Film Tour. Warren Miller Entertainment is one of the largest, most established, and successful action sports film companies today, with more than 76 years of snow sports filmmaking experience. The annual Warren Miller Film Tour continues the legacy of the brand, reaching more skiers, snowboarders, and outdoor enthusiasts than any other snow sports film to date.

Candidates must have experience hosting in live event environments. The primary responsibility involves interacting with the audience from the stage, introducing our sponsors, leading the audience through our show, managing prize draws, and interviewing athletes, sponsors, and production crew. This is a hands-on crew role that requires the M.C. to be an active member of a 4-person crew (alongside the Road Manager, Projectionist, and Brand Ambassador) in setting up and tearing down multiple events on a 5–7 week schedule.

Note: This role is fully mobile with constant travel required and includes sharing lodging/accommodations with another member of the crew.

Basic Responsibilities

On-Stage Performance & Show Hosting

Deliver the custom Event Script with clarity, infusing the appropriate levels of energy and enthusiasm to keep the audience engaged throughout the show.

Infuse the event atmosphere with enthusiasm and excitement, igniting the audience's passion for winter sports and the WME experience.

Handle event prizing and seamlessly integrate sponsors into each event, consistently seeking ways to enhance the presentation and experience for attendees.

Facilitate the swift and secure capture of Sweepstakes entrants' information, ensuring prompt transmission to WME and sponsors.

Actively promote and enroll new O+ (Outside+) Members, enhancing engagement with our brand and community.

Bring the Stoke!

Pre-Show Setup & Physical Operations

Participate fully as an active member of the 4-person road crew in all pre-show setup and post-show loadout duties.

Assist with the heavy lifting and transportation of Tour gear (must be able to lift more than 50 lbs regularly).

Collaborate with all 4 crew members (Road Manager, Projectionist, Emcee, Brand Ambassador) to set up equipment at each venue, including hands-on construction and assembly of the projection screen when required.

Manage venue production staff to ensure the highest quality event at each location.

Management of event equipment and transportation to/from each venue in tandem with the road crew.

Administrative & Feedback

Provide valuable feedback to WME on show-specific duties, both for pre-show preparation and post-show loadout, contributing to the continuous improvement of the tour experience. Daily report completion and review is required.

Provide a comprehensive post-tour recap to optimize future WME tours for maximum efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills

Experience hosting or emceeing in a live event environment is required.

Highly motivated, resourceful, detail-oriented, and possessing excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

Confident interviewer in front of large, enthusiastic audiences.

Proactive problem solver, capable of thinking critically and providing recommendations for improvements to enhance the event's impact.

Energetic and passionate about delivering exceptional experiences in a fast-paced event environment.

Display a confident, calm, and professional on-stage demeanor, exuding charisma and captivating the audience.

Must be physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and executing daily physical setup/breakdown work.

Familiarity with the brand is not required; however, an appreciation and familiarity with the winter sports industry and the brands represented is strongly preferred.

What We Offer:

For this seasonal/temporary role you can expect to be paid $875 per week. In addition, you will be compensated a taxable per diem rate of $70/day for scheduled days actively working on the tour.
