Pivot Engineer (Remote)
Position Title: Mid-level PIVOT Engineer
Location: Fully Remote (U.S.)
Employment Type: Contract
Period of Performance: Through Mid-November 2026, with potential extension
Pay Range: Tentative Range $130-145K
Position Overview
MKS2 is seeking a Mid-Level PIVOT Engineer to support a dynamic government-focused technology environment. The selected candidate will be responsible for engineering, integration, maintenance, and support activities associated with PIVOT systems and related infrastructure. This role requires a strong technical foundation, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Configure, maintain, and support PIVOT platform components and associated systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to system performance, availability, and functionality.
Support system upgrades, patches, and enhancements.
Monitor system health and analyze logs to identify and resolve issues proactively.
Collaborate with engineering, operations, cybersecurity, and customer stakeholders to meet mission requirements.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, system configurations, and operational procedures.
Participate in testing, validation, and deployment activities.
Provide technical recommendations for system improvements and optimization efforts.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience supporting enterprise IT systems, platform engineering, or systems administration.
Experience with troubleshooting complex technical environments.
Knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
Experience working with virtualization, cloud, networking, or enterprise applications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience supporting federal government or DoD environments.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevSecOps practices.
Experience with automation and scripting tools.
Industry certifications such as Security+, Network+, Azure, AWS, or comparable certifications.
Clearance Requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain required government credentials or security clearance, if applicable.
