Tria Federal (Tria) is seeking a Pharmacy Management Specialist II to enhance administrative and operational support services for our federal customer at the Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) in Falls Church, Virginia.

This position will join a team of administrative professionals supporting healthcare operations, program management, analysis, research, education programs, correspondence/task management, and military healthcare related policies and programs.

The successful candidate will support BUMED Clinical Operations, Policy and Standards and the Office of the Chief Medical Officer (OCMO), which are charged by the Navy Surgeon General to promote safe, quality healthcare, operational readiness, force development, Sailor and Marine deployability, and delivery of the future Naval Medical Force. Supported programs include OCMO; Quality, Safety, and Leadership Academy (QSLA); Women's Health; Trauma Strategy; Emergency Medical Services; Dental Services; Pharmacy Services; Navy Medicine Operational Clinical Communities; and Medical Research and Development.

Hybrid position: approximately 10% on-site / 90% remote, with on-site support at BUMED, Falls Church, VA.

Work hours may require flexibility to support Navy Medicine stakeholders across multiple time zones.

Travel: 25% or less; some positions may require CONUS or OCONUS travel.

Secret clearance requirements apply in accordance with the contract.

Job Description/Responsibilities

Serve as a pharmacy subject-matter expert supporting Navy Pharmacy readiness, policy, operations, education, and clinical-community initiatives.

Advise on Navy and DoD inpatient, outpatient, and clinical pharmacy operations, formulary management, prescription workflows, and deployment-related pharmacy requirements.

Support development and modernization of pharmacy policy, guidance, SOPs, training, and readiness initiatives.

Develop and deliver leadership briefings to BUMED, DHA, Navy Commands, and industry stakeholders.

Support quarterly Navy Pharmacy Readiness Training and pharmacy operational analyses.

Analyze pharmacy program data, identify operational or readiness issues, and recommend improvements.

Coordinate pharmacy stakeholders across Navy Medicine, DHA, MTFs, operational commands, and joint DoD/VA environments.

Support specialty clinical-community activities and efforts to improve standardization, quality, safety, and warfighter readiness.

Minimum Qualifications

Active Registered Pharmacist (RPh) license in at least one U.S. state.

5–12 years of relevant pharmacy experience.

High-level knowledge of DoD and Navy outpatient, inpatient, and clinical pharmacy operations.

Full understanding of the DoD Formulary and pharmacy prescription workflows.

Prior experience as a large-MTF Pharmacy Department Head.

Prior OCONUS Pharmacy Department Head experience.

At least two years of executive medicine and/or BUMED experience.

Current membership in the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and American Pharmacists Association (APhA).

Ability to brief senior DHA, BUMED, command, and industry leadership.

Requirements:

Secret Clearance.

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), Bachelor of Pharmacy, or other education qualifying the candidate for active RPh licensure.

Active RPh license in at least one state.

Preferred Experience and Background:

Deployment experience; joint DoD/VA pharmacy operations; formulary governance; pharmacy informatics; CHCS/DMLSS; pharmacy readiness analytics; MTF and operational medicine environments.

Military health environment, an understanding of the military organization, understanding of military health data.

Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Excellent skills in multitasking, prioritization and planning, schedule management, and the coordination of complex executive functions.

Strong collaboration and teamwork skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Possess strong editorial and writing skills and a keen understanding of different audiences.

Excellent verbal and communication skills.
