TITLE: Outreach Specialist

REPORTS TO: Deputy Director

LOCATION: Deep East Texas Workforce Development Area

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Employee

Career Team is looking to hire an Outreach Specialist responsible for promoting and communicating workforce development programs and services to potential participants, employers, and community partners through a variety of outreach strategies. The Outreach Specialist raises community awareness, recruits program participants, and re-engages customers, using events, social media, and collateral materials to drive enrollment and engagement. The ideal candidate has strong communication and organizational skills, resilience, and an outcome-driven mindset. Work is performed under the supervision of the Deputy Director.

Your Impact on Career Team’s Success:

Increase awareness of and engagement with available workforce development programs

Use social media platforms, community events, hiring events, and job fairs to promote programs to potential participants and partners

Create outreach and collateral materials, including flyers, graphics, brochures, reels, presentations, and advertisements, to market program offerings and recruit participants

Engage and recruit participants at community and hiring events

Re-engage customers who have discontinued participation and encourage their continued engagement

Encourage active participation in provider activities and mandated programs

Assist with participant screening and the enrollment process

Develop and support outreach and recruitment plans, including the use of virtual technology

Research, coordinate, and help plan hiring events, including supplies, staffing, and facility needs

Collaborate with management and the Marketing Department on social media, public relations, and advertising campaigns aligned with organizational objectives

Advocate for customers' needs and rights, providing support as necessary

Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of outreach activities and of customer and partner interactions and outcomes

Keep accurate records of follow-up with referrals and interested participants

Provide timely updates and reports on outreach and engagement efforts to management

Ensure compliance with data privacy and confidentiality policies and procedures

Approach each day and task with a "ZAG" mindset

Other duties and projects as needed

This position requires regular local travel to community and hiring events, including some evenings and weekends.

The Ideal Qualifications for this Position Include:

Associate's degree required, or comparable experience

Knowledge of social media platforms and their use for outreach and engagement

General knowledge of employment and training programs administered through the public Workforce system, including WIOA, Choices, and SNAP

Ability to listen to customers, analyze expressed needs, and use good judgment in suggesting solutions or next steps

Ability to work in a variety of settings with a culturally diverse customer base and be culturally sensitive

Personal computer literacy, including effective use of the Internet, email, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Ability to meet and/or exceed set goals and objectives

Excellent interpersonal, time management, customer service, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written)

A demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, and maintaining a high level of confidentiality

Adherence to the principles of Extreme Customer Service in all interactions with internal and external customers

A Valid Driver's License

Additional Skills/Knowledge Career Team Would Love for This Role:

Bilingual or Multilingual

Experience in marketing, video production, and/or the development of print materials

Knowledge of the Deep East Texas region and its employers, community organizations, and workforce partners

Strong multitasking abilities and a proactive approach to tasks

Training in trauma-informed care, evidence-based practice, and/or whole family services

Salary: $38,000 - $40,000/yr

Travel: 30% within the region
