MCU & Manufacturing Test Engineer
Sustain software for production automotive ECUs. The main job is handling component changes (obsolete parts, memory swaps, second sources) that affect ECU software or manufacturing test, and supporting production at the contract manufacturer. Engineers take over existing codebases, make and validate the changes, and document the process so it can run independently.
As MCU & Manufacturing Test Engineer you will be responsible for sustaining software for production automotive ECUs. The main job is handling component changes (obsolete parts, memory swaps, second sources) that affect ECU software or manufacturing test, and supporting production at the contract manufacturer. Take over existing codebases, make and validate the changes, and document the process so it can run independently.
Qualifications
5+ years of automotive embedded software
Has supported production at a contract manufacturer: deploying test updates, debugging line failures, reading yield data
Can judge whether a component change needs a software change, then carry it through validation
Automotive change control (PPAP, DV/PV, deviations)
Hands-on bench debugging with standard lab tools
Works independently and writes SOPs/runbooks as part of the job
Microcontroller firmware, bare-metal or RTOS
Flash, EEPROM and memory drivers; bootloaders; JTAG debug
EOL test sequences, test limits and flashing stations (NI TestStand or similar)
Automotive diagnostics and flashing (UDS, CAN, automotive Ethernet)
Nice to have: field-return / RMA failure analysis
Salary Range: $130K - $140K
