ECU MCAD Engineer
ONSITE in Palo Alto, CA or Irvine, CA
Key Responsibilities
● Create, update, and maintain 2D prints and 3D CAD models for ECU mechanical components and assemblies.
● Incorporate part DFM feedback from suppliers and manufacturing into CAD models and drawings.
● Apply GD&T per the applicable standard to define functional requirements, datums, and tolerances on engineering drawings.
● Keep drawings and models consistent, accurate, and current through design iterations and engineering changes.
● Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineers to resolve fit, form, and function questions.
● Manage revisions and document release through the PDM/PLM system in line with team processes.
● Review drawings and models for completeness and drafting-standard compliance prior to release.
Required Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
● Demonstrated experience as a CAD designer or MCAD engineer producing 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings.
● Strong working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5 or ISO equivalent).
● Experience incorporating DFM feedback into part designs and drawings.
● Proficiency in a major 3D CAD package (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX, Creo, or SolidWorks).
● Strong attention to detail and clear written and verbal communication.
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience with ECU, electronics enclosure, or automotive electronic module mechanical design.
Salary Range: $115,000-$140,000/K
The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
