A day in the life:

As a Junior Software Engineer, you'll build and maintain features across our AI-centric web applications — turning designs into working UI, wiring up API integrations, and keeping the codebase clean and well-tested.

You'll work closely with senior engineers who review your code, help unblock you when you're stuck, and push you to level up fast. Expect a mix of hands-on and AI-assisted coding, debugging, and daily collaboration through stand-ups and code reviews, with English as your everyday working language across a global, cross-timezone team.

Key Responsibilities:

Build and maintain web application features across the frontend and backend, writing clean, well-documented code and implementing user interfaces to design spec

Work on REST and GraphQL API integrations and databases to support application features

Debug and resolve technical issues across the frontend and backend, and write unit and integration tests to keep releases reliable

Follow security best practices and internal development standards, including git workflow, in everything you ship

Participate in code reviews and team stand-ups, and keep your lead updated on task status and any blockers

Employ AI technologies to enhance and optimize business processes

Utilize and leverage Power Digital's Nova ecosystem as it relates to your department; other applicable or related duties as assigned

Role Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Working knowledge of at least one modern web framework, with comfort writing JavaScript/TypeScript or an equivalent language for the team's stack

Basic understanding of REST/GraphQL APIs and relational databases

Familiarity with Git and standard version control workflows

Strong written and verbal English skills for daily use — documentation, code comments, and communication with global teams and clients

Comfort giving and receiving feedback in code review, and asking for help when blocked

Eagerness to learn, take direction, and grow technical skills quickly

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

80%+ of assigned sprint tickets completed on time each cycle

Pull requests pass code review with 2 or fewer rounds of revision on average

Zero critical bugs shipped to production per release

Unit/integration test coverage maintained on all new code shipped

Code review comments and stand-up follow-ups addressed within 1 business day

Most Important Things (MITs)

Shipping clean, tested, well-documented code on the tasks you're assigned

Growing your technical skills fast — asking questions, taking feedback, and applying it

Being a reliable teammate: showing up to stand-ups, flagging blockers early, and meeting commitments

Following team standards — git workflow, security practices, and code review process — without being reminded

Using AI tools to work faster and smarter, not just to get by
