HGV Technician

Role: HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic

Location: Aldridge, WS9 8TZ

Hours: 45 hours per week | between 07:00 and 17:00 Monday to Friday

Salary: between £45,007.89 - £47,946.88 pa DOE

Are you an experienced technician with a strong interest in vehicle maintenance and repair? We’re looking for a skilled and detail-focused HGV Technician to join our Aftermarket team. This role plays an important part in maintaining and repairing HGVs, refuse collection vehicles, and specialist equipment, ensuring vehicles are safe, compliant, and ready for customer use.

What you'll do:

Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on HGV chassis, hydraulics, and mounted equipment

Service vehicles in line with DVSA/VOSA standards and prepare for MOT inspections

Carry out repairs to body and chassis in line with Department for Transport requirements

Maintain accurate records and update job information on internal systems

Work both on-site and at customer locations, providing a professional service

Ensure all work is completed to expected quality and safety standards

Follow health & safety procedures and complete risk assessments where required

Continue to develop your technical knowledge through training and development

What you'll bring:

NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair

Experience working on HGVs, commercial vehicles, or specialist equipment

Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills

Understanding of hydraulics, vehicle electrics, and wiring diagrams

Clear communication skills and a customer-focused approach

Ability to organise your work and manage your time effectively

Willingness to travel and support flexible working when required
