Fullstack Software Engineer (Java - React) - [Ingeniero de Software Fullstack ] - Hybrid

What you’ll do

We’re looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to own backend and frontend development in Clara’s Collections squad. You’ll build features end-to-end — from data models and APIs to the interfaces our customers and internal teams use. This is a high-ownership role: you won’t wait for a ticket to tell you what to do; you’ll identify gaps, propose solutions, and ship.

Design and implement backend services in Java + Spring Boot, with a focus on financial flows (payments, collections, reconciliation)

Build and maintain frontend interfaces in React + TypeScript — you’re comfortable owning a feature across both layers

Model data and manage PostgreSQL and Redis for transactional and caching needs

Work with event-driven architectures (Kafka or similar) in a distributed microservices environment

Build and secure RESTful APIs for internal and external consumption

Use AI coding tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor) as a default part of your workflow — we expect this, not just welcome it

Collaborate with your Pod Lead and PM to translate product needs into technical decisions, and push back when something doesn’t make sense

Who you are

Must haves

3–5 years of backend development experience in Java, including Spring Boot

Hands-on experience with React and TypeScript — you’ve shipped real UI, not just tutorials

Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and distributed systems fundamentals

Experience with CI/CD, Docker, Git, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred)

AI-augmented development is how you work — you use AI tools daily to write, review, and debug code; you can speak concretely about how it’s changed your output

You identify what’s missing before someone asks — proactive, not reactive

Working proficiency in English and Spanish

Nice to haves

Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other message brokers

Background in financial services, payments, or fintech — domain ramp is real; prior exposure matters

Experience in Kubernetes and production observability
