Embedded Linux / High-Compute Engineer
As a Embedded Linux / High-Compute Engineer, you will be responsible for sustaining software for production automotive ECUs. The main job is handling component changes (obsolete parts, memory swaps, second sources) that affect ECU software or manufacturing test, and supporting production at the contract manufacturer. Take over existing codebases, make and validate the changes, and document the process so it can run independently.
Qualifications;
5+ years of automotive embedded software
Has supported production at a contract manufacturer: deploying test updates, debugging line failures, reading yield data
Can judge whether a component change needs a software change, then carry it through validation
Automotive change control (PPAP, DV/PV, deviations)
Hands-on bench debugging with standard lab tools
Works independently and writes SOPs/runbooks as part of the job
Embedded Linux on automotive SoCs; QNX or Android a plus
Storage bring-up: partitioning, device tree, boot flow for eMMC/UFS/SSD/DRAM changes
Yocto (or similar) builds, CI pipelines, multi-repo workflows
Secure boot and signed-image flows
Nice to have: Qualcomm, NXP i.MX or NVIDIA platforms; has taken over a legacy codebase with thin documentation
Salary Range: $130K - $140K
The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
