Account Director
About the Role
As an Account Director, you’ll serve as a key business leader and trusted advisor overseeing high-volume production workstreams, connecting ambitious creative executions to client business goals. We are looking for an empathetic, diplomatic, and compelling communicator who seamlessly balances client ambitions with agency interests while driving collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
Lead client relationships, serving as a day-to-day point person and trusted advisor to advance brand ambitions and drive organic revenue growth.
Effectively consult on creative ideas and strategies, ensuring execution responds to client briefs, aligns with budgets, and meets tight deadlines.
Partner with internal Strategy, Creative, and Production teams to champion agile, market-responsive production methods.
Oversee key, ongoing production workstreams, manage scopes of work, and identify opportunities to scale successful outcomes.
Coach and mentor agency staff through consistent feedback, training, and growth opportunities.
Drive a collaborative environment through confident decision-making, swift problem-solving, and thoughtful communication.
About You
The essentials:
8+ years of agency experience.
Strong presence and exceptional interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build deep, trust-based relationships.
Hands-on leadership experience in complex content production and guiding account teams.
Exceptional communication skills, including strong writing, presenting, and strategic storytelling capabilities.
Diplomatic, empathetic leadership style with a problem-solving, organized mindset.
Ability to balance the best interests of Monks and our clients and their businesses.
Ability to travel to client and production locations as needed.
Not a Must but a Plus:
Experience in B2B and/or the banking and financial services sector.
Prior experience in managing retainer-based agency accounts and cross-functional teams.

This role is subject to our Return to Office (RTO) policy. If you reside within a commutable distance of one of our office locations, you will be expected to work from the office a set number of days per week. The specific details, including the number of required office days, will be in accordance with the company’s then-current RTO policy, which is subject to change from time to time.
Monks has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
Salary Range:
$125,000—$145,000 USD
