The Workday Analyst (PATT) will partner with internal teams to support the implementation, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of the Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking modules within Workday and its integrated applications. The individual in this role will maximize system efficiencies to meet the strategic and operational needs of the business, serving as a subject matter expert for Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking.

Responsibilities:

Provide day-to-day configuration and business support of Workday with a focus on the Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking (PATT) modules

Configure and maintain pay components, earnings and deductions, tax elections, garnishments, absence plans, time entry templates, time calculations, and scheduling rules

Maintain Workday enterprise-wide payroll and time production system security, organizational structures, business processes, tasks, notifications, and system enhancements, and provide data entry support

Maintain a strong grasp of security principles and how they apply to Workday and third-party integrations

Support payroll accounting, GL posting, journal validation, and financial reconciliation in partnership with Finance/Accounting

Design and support integrations (EIBs, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, and Workday Studio) with time and attendance systems, benefits providers, banking/payment processors, and tax authorities

Develop reports, dashboards, and worklets; set up scheduled reports; understand required permissions for report sharing; and support composite, matrix, and advanced reporting types

Work closely with stakeholders to maximize existing processes and design new system changes to meet the strategic and operational needs of the business across the Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking modules

Thoroughly test configuration changes through unit testing and facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT)

Own Workday semi-annual releases (R1/R2) for PATT, including impact assessments, regression testing, and feature adoption

Manage and support required PATT reporting, including support for year-end reporting and related year-end activities

Follow SDLC methodology for feature development and apply change management policies for deploying changes to production

Troubleshoot production issues, drive root-cause analysis, and implement preventive controls

Proactively work with the team to continuously improve system configuration and reporting to advance the quality of information provided to stakeholders

Maintain strictest confidentiality in all work aspects

Understand basic database architecture, tables, functional interactions, and recognize and understand impacts to downstream systems

Analyze and document business requirements and processes

Coordinate with technical writers to develop informative, coherent, and usable documentation

Support HCM Core functionality configuration as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

Required minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related degree, or equivalent work experience

Workday Pro Payroll, Workday Pro Absence Management, or Workday Pro Time Tracking certification preferred

Minimum 2-3 years of experience implementing and supporting Workday Payroll, Absence Management, and/or Time Tracking modules

Strong understanding of absence plans, time entry templates, time calculations, and scheduling complexity

Strong understanding of payroll processes, time entry design, and payroll accounting/GL posting

Experience with Workday implementation tools (Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday Studio, Workday Report Writer, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, and iLoad) preferred

History of leading and supporting successful projects

Excellent knowledge of database reporting and analysis tools including Excel

Strong customer service skills and ability to effectively assist system users to resolve problems and questions

Ability to communicate, present, and interact effectively with all levels of management with effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships with third-party vendors as well as people within the organization

The salary for this position ranges from $110,000-$130,000, which will vary depending on how well an applicant's skills and experience align with the job description listed above.
