Summary
The Visual Merchandiser is responsible for creating visually appealing product displays and layouts in the store’s shopping area. Working closely with the marketing and store operations team, their responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels and product popularity, helping guests, and merchandising shelves and displays while considering season promotions and customer patterns.
To achieve success as a Visual Merchandiser, you should have a keen eye for design, an understanding of and desire to learn about customer behaviour, and the ability to create compelling product displays.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in retail.
Possessing experience in merchandising or a related field is an asset.

Job Responsibilities
Determine the best locations within each store to display products in accordance with our merchandising standards.
Track sales reports to determine product popularity and implement changes to improve figures and customer engagement.
Monitor discontinued or delisted products to ensure the shelves appear full.
Plan and develop merchandising strategies/standards.
Implement the setup of seasonal changeovers.
Meet with the marketing and purchasing department to communicate problem areas and brainstorm new ideas for displays.
Communicate visual standards and provide training to other store associates.
Communicate with leaders on promotional displays and maintenance of merchandising standards.
Operate a demo-table for designated vendors/brands (estimate is once per week per assigned store location)
A Day in the Life of a Visual Merchandiser
Each day as a Visual Merchandiser will be dynamic and unique. A typical day starts with scoping out the warehouse to see if there have been any new products received that need to be put out. You will then do a walk through of the store and see if there are any areas that need improving, especially areas with lots of missing products. From there, you’ll determine your priority tasks and store areas to start with and begin planning to solve any identified needs or issues. Throughout the day you will interact with guests and help answer any questions they may have. At the end of the day, you will communicate with the managers on any major changes to a section and let them know if there are new products to watch out for.
Schedule
Full-time (40 hrs/week)
Travel is required within the Edmonton region, overseeing at least two local store locations, as well as travel to Winnipeg, Manitoba at least one week per month. Travel may change as needed based on business requirements. Travel and accommodations, including mileage, are reimbursed per company policy.
Compensation
$19-22. Wage commensurate with experience.
