Role: Video Editor

Location:  New York

About the role:

As a mid-level post-production specialist, you'll work independently to deliver high-quality video and motion design content for one of the world's leading financial institutions. Working closely with the Videographer & Photographer and the broader Brand Marketing team, you'll own your project workload from raw footage through to final delivery — and contribute to building scalable content systems that raise the quality bar across the studio.

What you will be doing:

Post-Production & Motion Design

Edit video content for internal communications, executive visibility initiatives, digital channels, social media, thought leadership campaigns, and event recaps

Design and produce motion graphics, animated titles, lower thirds, explainer sequences, infographics, and branded video packages

Transform raw footage into coherent visual narratives through considered pacing, sound design, colour correction, and storytelling

Build reusable motion graphic templates that support consistency across recurring content series and campaigns

Collaborate with designers and marketers to translate creative briefs into engaging animated content

Ensure all deliverables meet brand guidelines, accessibility standards, and production quality expectations

Production Collaboration

Provide occasional on-set support during video shoots, executive interviews, livestreams, and firm events

Assist with camera, lighting, and audio setup as needed

Work closely with the Videographer & Photographer to maintain a smooth handover between production and post-production

Content Operations

Organise media assets, project files, and deliverables in line with established DAM workflows

Manage version control, archiving, metadata tagging, and asset handoff

Repurpose long-form content into shorter formats for social, web, and internal use

Stay current with developments in motion graphics, video editing, and AI-assisted production

Budget and Production Management

Track and report on content production spend alongside the production team

Raise purchase orders and support budget admin

Flag cost or timeline risks to senior stakeholders early

What you need to be great in this role:

Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, with solid working knowledge of post-production workflows and strong familiarity with Photoshop and Illustrator

Experience creating motion graphics, animated explainers, title packages, and branded content systems for corporate, agency, or editorial environments

Solid understanding of colour grading, audio mixing, and post-production workflows

Ability to manage multiple projects independently and deliver to deadline

Experience collaborating with creative directors, designers, marketers, and senior stakeholders

A portfolio demonstrating video editing and motion design work across a range of formats and channels

Familiarity with Cinema 4D, Blender, DaVinci Resolve, or 3D animation tools is a plus

Proficiency with Gen AI tools relevant to post-production to enhance output quality and efficiency

Experience building personal AI workflows to improve delivery speed and creative quality

Agentic approach to problem-solving — able to break down complex briefs into manageable steps and find efficient paths to delivery

Ability to critically evaluate AI outputs and apply human judgement to maintain craft standards
