Summer 2027 | Software Engineer Intern (Engineering, Core Technology)
Location: Hong Kong
Type: Full Time Internship (June 1, 2027 - August 31, 2027)
The Role
The Core Technology team builds the systems that allow Nex Playground to use cameras, microphones, and other sensors to understand player movement and interactions in real time.
As our Software Engineer Intern (Engineering, Core Technology), you will work across the technology stack behind these experiences. You may build real-time software that runs on Nex Playground, create internal tools for preparing and reviewing datasets, improve camera and hardware integrations, or automate how we train, evaluate, optimize, and deploy machine learning models.
You will collaborate with software engineers, ML researchers, and game teams to investigate real-world problems and turn new ideas into reliable technologies that can be used in games. You will receive hands-on mentorship while owning meaningful work that contributes to our products and engineering capabilities.
What You Will Do
Build real-time software for motion tracking, cameras, audio, and ML inference.
Develop tools that help engineers prepare datasets and train, evaluate, optimize, and deploy ML models.
Improve reliability and developer experience through visualization, debugging, performance analysis, and automated testing.
Collaborate with engineers and researchers to bring experimental technologies into games.

Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university.
Solid foundation in software development and computer science fundamentals.
Programming experience in any language.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Curiosity about real-time systems, machine learning systems, cameras, sensors, or hardware.
Excited to learn and work across different parts of the technology stack.
Nice To Have
Experience with C++, C#, or Java.
Interested in computer vision, ML inference, cameras, audio, or embedded systems.
Interested in building developer tools, web or desktop applications, or data workflows.
Interested in profiling, automated testing, CI/CD, or DevOps practices.
