Staff Product Manager, Marketplace Verticals
Our Mission
Healthcare should work for patients, but it doesn’t. In their time of need, they call down outdated insurance directories. Then wait on hold. Then wait weeks for the privilege of a visit. Then wait in a room solely designed for waiting. Then wait for a surprise bill. In any other consumer industry, the companies delivering such a poor customer experience would not survive. But in healthcare, patients lack market power. Which means they are expected to accept the unacceptable.
Zocdoc’s mission is to give power to the patient. To do that, we’ve built the leading healthcare marketplace that makes it easy to find and book in-person or virtual care in all 50 states, across +200 specialties and +12k insurance plans. By giving patients the ability to see and choose, we give them power. In doing so, we can make healthcare work like every other consumer sector, where businesses compete for customers, not the other way around. In time, this will drive quality up and prices down.
We’re 18 years old and the leader in our space, but we are still just getting started. If you like solving important, complex problems alongside deeply thoughtful, driven, and collaborative teammates, read on.
Your Impact on our Mission
As a Staff Product Manager in our Marketplace business unit, you will lead the development of partner-enabled specialty care experiences, starting with GLP-1 and mental health.
You will work with clinical and pharmacy partners to build patient journeys that extend beyond booking—from finding care and completing intake to attending appointments, rebooking, and managing treatment. You will define the product strategy, lead MVP development, measure results, and scale successful experiences to additional specialty care categories.
Success in this role means helping more patients complete appointments and return to Zocdoc to manage their ongoing care.
This is a zero to one product leadership role. You will identify unmet customer needs, define the product strategy, and build new capabilities from the ground up. You will need to be equally comfortable setting a long-term vision and getting into the details with engineering, design, operations, legal, analytics, and go-to-market teams to bring an early-stage product to market and scale it.
You’ll enjoy this role if you are…
Personally motivated by improving the healthcare system for both patients and providers
Excited by building patient experiences that solve a care need—not only helping patients find and book a provider
Comfortable working across company boundaries and turning partner capabilities into a seamless patient experience
Drawn to solving ambiguous patient problems at the intersection of partner capabilities and product execution
Energized by startup environments where speed, ownership, resourcefulness, and judgment matter
Comfortable moving between long term strategy, detailed workflow design, technical conversations, customer research, and execution
The kind of person who can turn a broad opportunity into clear crawl, walk, and run solutions
Your day to day is…
Defining and testing end-to-end specialty care journeys, including discovery, eligibility, booking, intake, appointment attendance, rebooking, and follow-up
Partnering with clinical, pharmacy, and operational teams to define responsibilities, integrations, and patient handoffs
Using research, funnel data, and experiments to improve booking conversion, appointment completion, repeat bookings, and patient engagement
Identifying which specialty care categories and partner models to pursue, then scaling successful MVPs
Leading cross-functional delivery across engineering, design, operations, legal, analytics, and go-to-market teams
Developing a deep understanding of patient needs, provider workflows, and partner capabilities through research, data analysis, and close collaboration with internal and external teams
Setting the long-term direction for specialty care while defining the MVPs, experiments, and operating model needed to get there
Rolling up your sleeves to drive execution with deep complexity and at scale
You’ll be successful in this role if you have…
6+ years of product management experience
Experience building consumer-facing healthcare, marketplace, or multi-sided platform products
Experience working with external partners and navigating product, operational, and technical dependencies across organizations
Experience building and scaling 0-to-1 products, including defining MVP scope, success metrics, and experiments
Familiarity with healthcare workflows such as insurance, intake, clinical scheduling, care coordination, or prescription fulfillment
Experience working at a startup or early stage company, with a demonstrated ability to operate with high ownership, speed, ambiguity, and limited resources
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics and influence senior stakeholders
A data driven mindset and enthusiasm for analytical problem solving, paired with exceptional attention to detail
An action oriented attitude and roll up your sleeves mentality
