Staff Engineer, Netskope Private Access
About the role
Please note, this team is hiring across all levels and candidates are individually assessed and appropriately leveled based upon their skills and experience.
Netskope Private Access (NPA) is our Zero-Trust Network Access (ZTNA) product that large Fortune 500 enterprises use and rely upon everyday for secure access to their private applications. NPA reduces risk by providing zero trust application access instead of network access. NPA is one of the core services of our Security Service Edge (SSE) portfolio and is currently in rapid growth in customer base, revenue, and product maturity. It is an exciting time to join us as we enter a new phase of scale.

What’s in it for you
The Netskope Private Access (NPA) team is a cross-functional group of talented engineers responsible for the end-to-end development of NPA. As a member of this team you will play an integral part in the continuing development and evolution of this service.
What you will be doing
Design and develop high-performance, low-latency data-path components that terminate zero-trust tunnels and forward network traffic to private applications
Work across the end-to-end data path and related control path — from cloud services to software deployed in customer environments
Own the full software lifecycle beyond the data path: host-OS provisioning and upgrades, image packaging (OVA, VHDX, AMI), and deployment across public clouds and on-prem hypervisors
Debug and root-cause complex data-path issues end-to-end — from packet captures and kernel/network-stack behavior to multi-hop tunnel analysis
Monitor, triage, and resolve alerts and production issues in a large-scale global environment
Required skills and experience
5+ years building high-performance networking software — not just socket programming, but packet-level processing and event-driven architectures
Programming mastery in C/C++ with solid unit and integration testing practices; Golang is a plus
Deep, hands-on knowledge of TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, IP routing and NAT, with strong Linux systems-level fundamentals
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills — able to root-cause production issues from packet captures, logs, and metrics
Docker/k8s and Linux host provisioning (OS upgrades, image building, cloud VM images) a plus
Proven ability to leverage AI-powered coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) to accelerate development and maintain code quality
Education
BSCS or equivalent required, MSCS or equivalent strongly preferred
