Senior Software Engineer - Insider
About this Role:
Faire’s Insider pod, part of the Value Pillar, owns Faire’s membership program — the way we partner with brands to deliver exclusive benefits to retailers so they know they’ll always get the lowest landed cost in wholesale. Through free shipping, exclusive discounts, and premium benefits, Insider makes Faire the obvious place for our most engaged retailers to start and grow their businesses.
As a Senior Engineer (L4), you’ll own the core services and systems that power the membership: free-shipping coverage, discount targeting and delivery, enrollment and activation funnels, and the membership lifecycle that reinforces value at every touchpoint. Your work directly shapes what benefits a retailer sees, when they see them, and how much value the program delivers.
What You’ll Do:
Own critical services in our Kotlin-based backend that power our Insider membership program
Collaborate cross-functionally with Data Science, Product, and Design to prototype, evaluate, and productionize improvements to the Insider user experience..
Measure and iterate on program performance using experimentation and analytics, growing active Insiders, GMV per Insider, and enrollment rate.
Reinforce Insider value across cart, checkout, discovery, and post-order surfaces so members consistently see and use the savings they’re entitled to.
Mentor engineers and contribute to team best practices in design reviews, performance tuning, and system architecture.

Experience: 5+ years in backend systems, with marketplace a nice to have
Technical Depth: Proficiency in Kotlin, Java, or similar object-oriented languages; comfort with distributed systems, service design, and performance optimization.
