ABOUT THE ROLE

The role will be an integral part of our Compliance team. Our team is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance and ethical conduct across all aspects of our business operations. Will assist with the design, implementation and oversight of Bitvavo’s risk-based compliance programme, based on EU regulatory requirements. You will be part of a team responsible for the daily compliance activities contributing with your expertise in advising internal stakeholders on compliance matters and drafting/reviewing internal policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements. You will be able to assess impact and draft clear and hands-on advice on upcoming regulatory change impact and implementation, taking into account the needs of the business.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

- Ensure policies and procedures are reviewed and maintained in line with the Compliance programme

- Monitor and analyse developments with regard to regulations in the compliance area (i.e MICAR, EMD II, DORA, AMLDs) and make regulatory impact assessment with clear business requirements

- Participate in and contribute to business development projects, New Products and Activities (i.e PARP) and crypto assets admission in the exchange

- Identify and address Compliance related risks including Regulatory, ML, TF or sanctions Bitvavo might be exposed to

- Ensure adequate monitoring and control testing is conducted on internal processes for compliance related matters

- Coordinate the yearly Enterprise Risk Assessment and the Systematic Integrity Risk Analysis (SIRA) alongside the Risk department

- Manage the data protection framework of Bitvavo in collaboration with the external Data Protection Officer

- Provide training across the organisation on ethics and integrity, compliance, financial crimes, related topics

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- 5 years of experience in Compliance related business functions. Experience in a Regulated Exchange, EMI, CASP or Payment institution is a plus

- Comprehensive knowledge of financial services regulations (i.e MIFID II or MICAR, or Electronic Money /Payment service directives)

- Excellent report-writing and drafting policies capabilities

- Skilled at executing multi-functional and cross-organisational assignments within Bitvavo Group that require in-depth compliance analysis

- Ability to operate well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

- Detail-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to accuracy and integrity

- Keen interest in digital currencies or related work experience
