ABOUT THE ROLE

Bitvavo is looking for you, an ambitious Senior Financial Controller who has accounting and reporting in their DNA. You do not shy away from learning new things every day and taking responsibility for various financial projects.

We are on the mission to stay the European Market Leader as a cryptocurrency exchange and expand our offering to enable access to better returns for our customers. In the next couple of years, we will be considerably expanding our operations all around Europe and you will have the opportunity to be part of it. You will be responsible for the completeness and accuracy of our accounting, and solid reporting to our stakeholders. This means a lot of impact and opportunities to set up new and improve existing processes.

You will be an important player in the finance team. For us, finance is not just a support department. Finance is at the very core of our business processes. As we scale up our reporting to meet new IFRS requirements, run our first Big 4 audit, and expand into new revenue lines, this role carries real ownership over how we get there.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

- Owning accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and yearly closing and financial reporting, as well as ad hoc reporting

- Contributing to our IFRS conversion project, ensuring our accounting policies and financial statements are IFRS compliant

- Consolidating group entities and preparing consolidated and company only financial statements, including multi entity and business line reporting

- Taking initiative to implement process improvements and further strengthen the control function over accounting processes

- Identifying data requirements and setting up reporting to comply with new crypto regulation

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

- University degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration

- 8-10 years of experience, ideally including Big 4 audit experience or a senior in-house reporting role

- Strong knowledge of external reporting (IFRS), including consolidation and technically complex areas such as share based payments and revenue recognition

- Experience coordinating or managing an external audit

- Strong stakeholder management skills

- Organized, flexible, detail oriented, and able to take ownership of complex projects. Able to work independently, prioritise and multi task
