About the role

Numa is a tech-enabled hospitality operator running roughly 150 active properties across multiple

European markets, several brands, and two young business lines: Franchise and M&A. Finance has

kept pace with that growth, but many of our core processes were designed for a company a fraction of

our current size. They work because good people make them work every month — not because they are

built to scale. The cost of that is now visible: manual reconciliations, the same accounting question answered

differently in three markets, reporting cycles that depend on specific individuals, controls that live in

people’s heads, and automation opportunities that nobody owns end to end.

This role exists to fix that permanently — one process at a time, in priority order, until Numa’s finance

engine is standardised, automated, documented and demonstrably in use.

Key Responsibilities

Process design and standardisation

Maintain a live, prioritised inventory of Numa’s finance processes with an assessment of criticality,

maturity and risk

Run process assessments with the teams who own the work — evidence-based, not opinion-based

Design target processes that are standard across markets and entities by default, with variation only

where a jurisdiction genuinely requires it

Eliminate steps before automating them; automate what remains

Automation and systems

Identify and deliver automation across the finance stack — ERP workflows, AP automation, bank

and PSP integrations, BI pipelines, low-code tooling

Translate process design into system requirements, and hold vendors and internal Tech to them

Lead tool evaluations, selections and implementations as projects where a process redesign

requires it

Work with Tech, Data and BI to make sure financial data flows once, correctly, and is not re-keyed

downstream

Documentation and governance

Build and maintain Numa’s finance process documentation: process maps, SOPs, RACI, control

matrices, calendars and SLAs

Design the control points into the process rather than bolting them on afterwards

Make documentation genuinely usable — the test is whether a new joiner or an auditor can follow it

unaided

Project leadership

Run each process initiative as a proper project: scope, stakeholders, milestones, risks, decision log,

steering rhythm

Manage the portfolio of parallel initiatives and be explicit with the CFO about trade-offs and

sequencing

Escalate early and with a recommendation attached

Adoption, enablement and assurance

Train and coach finance and non-finance teams on new processes

Hand over to named process owners with clear accountability

Run post-implementation adherence reviews at a defined interval and close the gaps you find

Report progress and impact to the CFO and the wider leadership team in numbers, not narrative

What you will need

4–8+ years in finance process design, finance transformation or finance operations — ideally

combining a consulting background (Big 4, strategy or a transformation practice) with in-house

delivery in a fast-scaling company

A demonstrable track record of end-to-end process redesigns you personally delivered —

with quantified before and after, not slideware

Strong project management craft: scoping, stakeholder mapping, milestone discipline, running

steering meetings, managing resistance, escalating early

Solid finance fundamentals: you understand a P&L, a close, an accounting treatment, a control and

a cash cycle well enough to design around them. A qualified accountant is welcome but not required

Systems fluency: ERP (NetSuite, Dynamics, SAP or similar), AP automation, BI. Comfortable writing

requirements, reading a data flow, and challenging a vendor

Multi-entity, multi-country experience and comfort with jurisdictional variation

A working style that fits: structured, low-ego, hands-on, allergic to processes that only work on

paper. Persuades with evidence rather than hierarchy, and finishes what they start

Fluent English (our working language)
