Senior Manager, Corporate Development
Senior Manager, Corporate Development
About the Role
At Klaviyo, we believe in the power of technology to help businesses build smarter, more personalized relationships with their customers. As we continue to expand our platform, product capabilities, and global reach, Corporate Development plays an increasingly important role in accelerating our long-term strategy.
We are looking for a Senior Manager, Corporate Development to help shape and execute Klaviyo's inorganic growth strategy, spanning acquisitions, strategic investments, partnerships, and other opportunities that accelerate our product and business ambitions.
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Development, you will serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership while independently driving complex, high-impact initiatives from initial thesis development through execution and integration. This is a highly visible, hands-on role with significant autonomy, requiring a unique combination of strategic judgment, financial sophistication, commercial acumen, and the ability to navigate complex transactions across multiple stakeholders.
As Klaviyo's platform and ambitions continue to evolve, you will play a critical role in expanding our ability to identify, evaluate, and execute transformative opportunities. Success requires someone who can operate as both a strategic thinker and an exceptional executor, translating market insights into actionable opportunities and driving transactions forward with speed, precision, and sound judgment.
How You Will Make a Difference
Own end-to-end transaction execution: Independently lead acquisitions, strategic investments, and other inorganic initiatives from opportunity identification and initial evaluation through valuation, diligence, negotiation, internal approvals, closing, and integration planning.
Shape Klaviyo's inorganic growth strategy: Partner with the Head of Corporate Development and executive leadership to identify strategic priorities, assess build/partner/buy opportunities, and develop investment theses aligned with Klaviyo's long-term product and business objectives.
Drive sophisticated financial and strategic analysis: Build and evaluate complex financial models, transaction structures, valuations, business cases, and synergy analyses to inform investment decisions and capital allocation.
Expand deal pipeline and execution capacity: Proactively source, prioritize, and advance multiple opportunities simultaneously, bringing the ownership and operational rigor needed to increase the organization's transaction throughput.
Influence executive-level decisions: Develop clear, compelling investment recommendations and present complex strategic, financial, and commercial considerations to senior executives and key decision-makers.
Lead cross-functional deal teams: Coordinate Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Security, and other stakeholders through complex diligence and transaction processes, ensuring alignment, accountability, and timely execution.
Build relationships across the technology ecosystem: Develop and maintain a strong network of founders, investors, advisors, and industry leaders to identify emerging opportunities and strengthen Klaviyo's market presence.
Evaluate emerging technologies and markets: Assess evolving industry dynamics, competitive landscapes, AI-driven innovation, and adjacent product opportunities to identify areas where inorganic growth can accelerate Klaviyo's strategy.
Navigate complex deal structures: Evaluate and negotiate transaction economics, governance, strategic rights, and commercial considerations across acquisitions, minority investments, and strategic partnerships.
Drive post-transaction value creation: Partner with functional leaders to define integration priorities, establish success metrics, and ensure transactions deliver against their strategic and financial objectives.
Who You Are
8+ years of relevant experience across Corporate Development, investment banking, private equity, strategic finance, or related transaction-focused roles, including meaningful experience independently leading complex transactions.
Demonstrated track record executing acquisitions, strategic investments, joint ventures, or other sophisticated strategic transactions, ideally within technology, software, fintech, or high-growth businesses.
Exceptional financial modeling, valuation, and analytical capabilities, with experience evaluating complex business models, transaction structures, and long-term strategic and financial implications.
Strong commercial and strategic judgment, with the ability to evaluate opportunities beyond financial returns and understand their implications for product strategy, competitive positioning, and long-term enterprise value.
Proven ability to operate with significant autonomy, independently manage competing priorities, and drive multiple complex workstreams from ambiguity to execution.
Experience partnering with senior executives and cross-functional leaders, translating complex analysis into concise, actionable recommendations that influence high-stakes decisions.
Deep understanding of M&A processes, including strategic evaluation, due diligence, transaction structuring, negotiation, internal governance, and integration planning.
Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with founders, investors, external advisors, and senior business leaders.
An entrepreneurial, hands-on mindset with a willingness to move seamlessly between high-level strategic thinking and detailed transaction execution.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop executive-ready investment materials and clearly articulate complex business decisions.
High intellectual curiosity and a strong interest in technology, AI, commerce, and the evolving software ecosystem.
Nice to Have
Experience executing transactions within a large-scale technology company, high-growth SaaS business, or similarly complex corporate environment.
Exposure to international transactions, cross-border investments, or global market expansion.
Experience evaluating emerging technologies, AI-enabled businesses, fintech, or adjacent software platforms.
MBA or other relevant advanced degree.
Experience building or improving Corporate Development processes, transaction frameworks, or analytical infrastructure within a lean, high-performing team.
Why This Role Matters
Corporate Development is a critical lever for accelerating Klaviyo's growth, expanding our capabilities, and strengthening our competitive position.
As our product portfolio and strategic opportunities expand, the ability to independently evaluate and execute complex transactions becomes increasingly important. This role will directly increase the organization's capacity to pursue high-value opportunities, reduce execution bottlenecks, and ensure that strategically important deals receive the attention and rigor required to move forward.
You'll work closely with senior leadership, influence decisions with meaningful long-term implications, and have the opportunity to shape not only the transactions Klaviyo pursues, but how Corporate Development contributes to the company's next phase of growth.
