POSITION SUMMARY

This is a temporary position created to provide maternity leave coverage, with an anticipated duration aligned to the leave period. The selected candidate will be fully embedded in Natera's Finance organization and is expected to operate independently and at full capacity from day one.

The Senior Financial Analyst supports the organization by delivering timely, accurate, and insightful business expense performance analyses to management. This role gathers, analyzes, prepares, and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, future requirements, and operating forecasts. The Senior Financial Analyst develops, interprets, and implements financial concepts for financial planning and control while performing technical analyses to determine present and future financial performance.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor, identify, and communicate financial expense performance to business partners

Review and approve expense requisitions, highlighting items outside of budget parameters

Develop departmental financial and project expense benchmarks and reporting

Create ad-hoc analyses and business forecasts

Support accounting close process and audit reporting

Design and implement scalable processes and procedures to report key business metrics

Identify and drive implementation of cost reduction and process improvement projects

Work with all functional groups to meet financial and corporate goals

Handle Protected Health Information (PHI) — both paper and electronic — in compliance with HIPAA and Natera policy

Complete required HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance, and security training within the first 30 days of hire

Maintain current status on all Natera training requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, a related field, or equivalent experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting

Advanced Excel proficiency — pivot tables, VBA macros (build from scratch), and Lookup functions

Strong financial systems and business application skills, including database applications (QlikView preferred)

Working knowledge of GAAP

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Strong analytical skills with a focus on solving moderate to complex financial issues

Experience supporting an R&D or Engineering organization is preferred

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment

Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive projects, interdependencies, and potential risks

Sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive information within defined policies and practices

Collaborative work style, strong service orientation, and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
