Senior Embedded Engineer - Command Connector

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Systems level Linux engineer / Linux internals expert to help us build our next generation of command connector product that turns any legacy camera into a cloud-native, AI-searchable node.  Under the hood, it's managing dozens of concurrent video streams, translating disparate camera protocols into a single unified pipeline, and feeding all of it into CV models / inference run at the edge of the device itself.  We currently support 100K+ customer cameras on this product and looking for more technical talent to help our growth.

What You'll Do

Reading kernel oops/panic traces

Debugging GPU driver issues

Working with boot/security subsystems like secure boot and luks disk encryption

Networking internals (routing, firewalling, link-layer issues)

RAID array management (mdadm, disk failure/rebuild scenarios)

What You Bring

BS/MS in Computer Science (or similar degree)

5+ years of experience of software development for Linux in System Programming Languages (C, C++, Rust, Go, etc)

Experience in embedded development or experience with low-level system software development.

Good knowledge with operating systems and computer architecture.

Good communication & documentation skills.

Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week

Annual Pay Range

At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate's skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of restricted stock units (RSUs)

Below is the annual on-target earnings (OTE) range for full-time employees for this position, comprised of base compensation and commissions (if applicable).
