Why This Role Matters

The Senior Buyer will support the sourcing and delivery of components required to build the fusion demonstration system. You will work closely with scientists and engineers across many disciplines to ensure that their designs can be assembled on time and on budget, leading to a successful project delivery. Your role involves negotiating with suppliers, managing supplier performance, and implementing procurement strategies to meet business objectives. You will also support cost reduction initiatives and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure optimal supply chain performance.

What You'll Do

Oversee the overall procurement process including but not limited to creating and reviewing RFPs and RFQs, purchase order management, and invoice reconciliation

Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers, ensuring compliance to purchase agreements and identifying opportunities for improvement

Work collaboratively with scientists and engineers to identify potential suppliers that meet design requirements and align with the company's overall goals and objectives

Identify potential supply chain risks and develop risk mitigation plans

Prepare reports to track KPIs, supplier performance, and cost-saving initiatives

Participate in continuous improvement of current systems and processes and the overall procurement process

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or related equivalent experience in this field

5+ years of experience in purchasing, material planning, or supply chain, preferably in a manufacturing environment

Strong knowledge of supply chain processes including procurement, logistics, and inventory management

Experience with supplier negotiations, contract management, and risk mitigation

Proficiency in supply chain management software (e.g., Netsuite, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)

Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills and experience with data analysis and reporting

Comfortable operating in an evolving, ambiguous, and cross-functional startup environment

Bonus Points For

Experience as a Global Supply Manager

Experience with reviewing terms and conditions and master schedule agreements

Experience with Coupa

Experience in a startup environment

Experience working in aerospace, automotive, fusion or energy industries

Pay Range:

$125,000—$150,000 USD
