Rear Wheel Drive Axle and System Design Engineer
Domain Specific Skills:
Experience with RWD and/or FWD architectures, rear or front axle systems, and driveline integration.
Ability to evaluate packaging impacts of axle, shaft, suspension, and mounting layouts.
Knowledge of axle durability, half-shaft performance, and joint design considerations.
Ability to develop system-level solutions concidering suspension, driveline, mounts, and surrounding vehicle structures.
Key Responsibilities:
Define component and system engineering requirements.
Create and develop engineering designs and concepts.
Perform packaging, tolerance, and feasibility studies.
Develop CAD models, drawings, and engineering releases.
Support CAE, prototype builds, testing, Sourcing and validation activities.
Resolve design, manufacturing, quality, and launch issues.
Collaborate with Internal cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
Manage engineering changes and documentation.
Proven background in concept-to-production vehicle development and problem-solving
Required Skills/Experience:
5y+ years of automotive/commerical vehicle engineering experience within relevant domain.
2y+ CAD experience (CATIA 3Dx, 3D Expereince or V5).
GD&T and tolerance analysis
DFMA & Serviceability principles.
Problem-solving and root cause analysis.
Effective communication and teamwork.
