About the role

We're looking for a senior Product Marketing Manager to lead go-to-market for Anthropic's highest-priority special projects — the cross-cutting launches, new capabilities, and time-sensitive initiatives that don't map neatly to a single product line but matter enormously to how the market understands Claude and Anthropic.

You'll own positioning, messaging, and narrative development for these projects end to end, and you'll also own the program: pulling together product, research, comms, sales, and marketing stakeholders, building the plan, and driving it to launch. This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who operates with a high degree of autonomy. You'll frequently be handed an ambiguous, technically complex problem — sometimes deep in areas like safety and cyber — with a tight timeline and no existing playbook, and be expected to shape the story, build the plan, and ship. If you're a product marketer who is equally strong at crafting the narrative and running the launch, and you want to work on the projects that define the frontier of AI, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

Own go-to-market strategy for a rotating portfolio of special projects, from positioning and messaging through launch execution and enablement

Develop crisp, differentiated narratives for net-new capabilities and initiatives, often where no established market category or language yet exists

Translate complex technical subject matter — including safety and safeguards work — into clear, credible messaging for developers, enterprise buyers, and the broader ecosystem

Act as the program lead for each project: define the launch plan, timeline, and workstreams; align cross-functional stakeholders; and drive execution across product, research, comms, demand generation, and sales

Create the core launch assets and source-of-truth materials — messaging frameworks, narratives, FAQs, enablement content — that other teams build from

Partner with Product and Research leads to shape how projects are framed and sequenced for the market, feeding back market and competitive insight

Build repeatable frameworks and playbooks so that special projects become faster and more consistent to bring to market over time

Operate as a trusted, independent owner: surface risks early, make judgment calls in ambiguity, and keep leadership informed without needing close direction

Minimum Requirements

Product marketing background; an exceptional writer and messaging craftsperson — positioning, narrative, and copy are your strengths, not just strategy decks

Strong program management instincts and have personally run complex, multi-stakeholder launches end to end

Can get comfortable with technical subject matter quickly and communicate it accurately to both technical and non-technical audiences

Work autonomously — you're energized by being handed an ambiguous problem and trusted to figure out the path

Skilled cross-functional collaborator who can align product, research, comms, and sales partners without formal authority

Thrive in fast-moving, high-pressure environments where priorities shift and the playbook hasn't been written yet

Preferred Requirements

10+ years of product marketing experience in B2B or enterprise software, with a track record as a senior individual contributor

Experience marketing AI/ML products, developer platforms, or infrastructure — a developer-platform background is valuable but not required

Experience marketing in areas with significant trust, safety, security, or regulatory dimensions

A track record of launching products or capabilities that created a new market category

Prior experience in a special projects, launch lead, or "fixer" style role that spanned multiple product lines

Experience at a high-growth technology company during a category-defining period

Role-specific policy: For this role, we expect all staff to be able to work from our San Francisco office at least 2 days a week, though we encourage you to apply even if you might need some flexibility for an interim period of time for relocation.

The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.

For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.

Annual Salary:

$320,000—$320,000 USD
