Principal Compensation Analyst

The opportunity
We're looking for a Principal Compensation Analyst to join HubSpot's Total Rewards team and help us build and evolve compensation programs that are equitable, competitive, and deeply connected to our business strategy. You'll bring structure to complexity, turn market data into clear recommendations, and partner closely with People Business Partners, Finance, and senior leaders to ensure our pay programs fuel HubSpot's mission.
What you'll own
Lead the analysis, and implementation of global compensation programs including base pay, short-term incentives, and equity
Conduct global market benchmarking, assess peer groups, and ensure consistent market pricing practices while maintaining internal equity
Apply quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify problems, develop hypotheses, and recommend data-backed solutions for compensation programs and processes
Partner with the HRIS/Systems team to implement, test, and define requirements for Workday performance and compensation modules, ensuring seamless updates to structures and job profiles
Streamline and automate monthly, quarterly, and annual compensation reporting and analysis using modern data tools and AI workflows
Provide sophisticated compensation analytics, clearly conveying complex findings and recommendations to collaborators
Serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders on all compensation matters, including offer recommendations, promotions, and equity grants
Drive job architecture projects, evaluating roles, defining levels, and ensuring internal equity across the organization
Develop and maintain compensation modeling tools and dashboards that enable data-driven decision-making at scale
Partner with Legal, Finance, and People Ops on executive compensation analysis and Board/Compensation Committee materials
Monitor legislative and market changes that affect compensation (pay equity, transparency laws) and recommend proactive adjustments
What you'll bring
8+ years of progressive compensation experience
Deep expertise in compensation benchmarking and survey methodology (Radford, Mercer, Compa, Pave)
Proven ability to manage global compensation programs in a high-growth environment
Advanced Excel / Google Sheets modeling skills
Strong executive presence and ability to communicate complex topics clearly
Experience with job evaluation frameworks and leveling
What would set you apart
CCP designation (Certified Compensation Professional)
Experience with Workday
Background in broad-based compensation and administration
Familiarity with pay equity analysis tools
Experience at a publicly traded SaaS or tech company
Prior experience supporting Compensation Committee reporting
Pay & Benefits
The cash compensation below includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are tailored to your skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
