Group Overview

Metrea is actively building its presence in Australia as part of a deliberate, globally coordinated ex-pansion into the Asia-Pacific region. Our Asia-Pacific Market Group, headquartered in Brisbane with an additional office in Perth, is the enterprise's dedicated regional interface — connecting Australia's national security community with Metrea's full suite of capabilities across three core domains: Aerospace, Electromagnetic & Cyber, and Digital & Synthetic. Metrea is now bringing that same depth of mission expertise and proven operating model to Australia.

Underpinning these capabilities is a global network of Support Groups spanning people, finance, platform, operations, legal, and engagement — ensuring that as we grow in Australia, we do so with the full weight of an established global enterprise behind us. Metrea solutions are built for elegance: effective, efficient, and evolving — enabling our partners to scale capacity and achieve asymmetric advantage against rapidly evolving threats.

Position Summary

At Metrea, our people are central to how we deliver on mission. We’re looking for a teammate who loves helping others, keeping things organised, and making the employee experience feel clear, supportive, and easy to navigate.

In this role, you’ll be a trusted first point of contact for teammates and leaders across Australia, helping with day-to-day people questions and supporting key moments across the employee lifecycle — from onboarding and employment changes through to leave, payroll coordination, systems, reporting, compliance administration, and policy guidance.

You’ll work closely with the People team, leaders, payroll, finance, and employees to make sure people processes run smoothly, information is accurate, and support is delivered with care and discretion. You’ll also help identify ways to improve how we work, making our people operations more simple, consistent, and scalable as Metrea continues to grow in Australia.

This role would suit someone who is approachable, detail-focused, practical, and calm under pressure. You’ll enjoy balancing service, accuracy, confidentiality, and continuous improvement whilst helping to build the operational foundations that enable a positive teammate experience and effective people partnering across the business.

What You'll Do

In this role, you are the practical go-to who helps teammates and leaders navigate the employee experience at Metrea. You’ll keep the important people processes moving smoothly, make sure details are accurate, and help create a supportive experience from someone’s first day through to every key moment in their journey.

Be a trusted first point of contact for teammates and leaders, helping answer day-to-day questions about people processes, policies, systems, leave, pay, benefits, and employment matters

Support the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, contracts, probation, employee changes, transfers, and offboarding

Prepare and maintain accurate employee records, letters, contract variations, and people documentation with care, confidentiality, and attention to detail

Partner with payroll and finance so employee changes, leave, superannuation details, and other inputs are processed accurately and on time

Keep our people data clean and useful by maintaining HRIS records, supporting reporting, audits, and key people metrics

Assist with recurring People processes such as probation reviews, performance cycles, learning activities, and compliance administration

Help ensure our People practices align with Australian employment obligations, including Fair Work, National Employment Standards, privacy, superannuation, and workplace health and safety requirements

Support People Business Partners with employee relations administration, consultation processes, change activities, and sensitive documentation

Spot opportunities to make things simpler, clearer, and better — helping document procedures, improve workflows, and strengthen how People Operations supports the business

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone who enjoys being the person others can rely on, making processes work better, and bringing calm, organised support to a busy environment. You don’t need to know everything, but you’ll be someone who is curious, accurate, discreet, and comfortable working with people across all levels.

Experience in People Operations, HR coordination, HR advisory, shared services, or a similar role supporting the employee lifecycle

A practical understanding of Australian employment frameworks, including the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards, leave administration, contracts, and basic award principles

Confidence managing HR administration, employee records, HRIS processes, and people data with strong attention to detail

The ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment

Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain people processes clearly and provide a positive employee service experience

Good judgement and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information

The confidence to know when to resolve a query directly and when to escalate more complex or higher-risk matters

A continuous improvement mindset; you enjoy finding better ways to do things and making processes easier for others to follow

Collaborative working style and the ability to build trust with teammates, leaders, payroll, finance, and the broader People team

Experience in aviation, aerospace, defence, manufacturing, logistics, or another regulated or operationally complex environment would be helpful but is not essential

Ability to obtain and maintain an AGSVA Security Clearance
