Municipal Court Clerk I & II
Pay Range: $18.32 - $24.67/hr.

Workdays & Hours: This position operates within a 24/7 environment.
Shifts available:
2nd Shift: 4:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. (includes $0.75/hour shift differential pay)
Other shifts within the operation include:
1st Shift: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (no differential pay)
3rd Shift: 12:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. (includes $1.50/hour shift differential pay)
Workdays may vary by assignment and could fall between Sunday–Thursday or Friday–Tuesday.
Employees are required to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
Work Location: Detention Center – 350 West Belknap Street, Fort Worth, TX.

A Municipal Court Clerk I or II job is available with the City of Fort Worth Municipal Court Clerk of Court Division. The City of Fort Worth Municipal Court’s mission is to provide justice through the resolution of cases in a court-related environment with quality service while providing exceptional service to our community with courtesy and respect. We are seeking a self-motivated and customer service-focused Municipal Court Clerk I or II to join our team.
Minimum Qualifications for Municipal Court Clerk I:
High School diploma/GED
Valid driver’s license
Possession of or the ability to maintain a valid Court Clerk Certification Level 1 within eighteen months (18) of hire
Minimum Qualifications for Municipal Court Clerk II:
High School diploma/GED
Two (2) years of responsible customer service experience
Valid driver's license
Possession of or the ability to maintain a valid Court Clerk Certification Level 1 within eighteen months (18) of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual (Spanish)
Court Clerk Certification
Customer Service Experience in Court Environment
Administrative or Clerical Experience
Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
The Municipal Court Clerk I or II job responsibilities include:
Preparing case documents and notices
Answering internal and external inquiries
Processing payments
Performing data entry and records management functions as assigned
Providing direct public service to all persons
Providing phone and online chat service
Mail processing, case calendaring, and other duties as required
Physical Demand
Sedentary Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions.
Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
