Workdays & Hours: The schedule is below for both locations; some evening/weekend work required.
Monday: 11:15am-8:15pm
Tuesday: 11:15am-8:15pm
Wednesday: 9:15am-6:15pm
Thursday: 9:15am-6:15pm
Friday: 9:15am-6:15pm

A Customer Service Representative II position is available at the Fort Worth Public Library at the Reby Cary Youth Library and Ella Mae Shamblee Library. The ideal candidate for these positions is customer-focused, enthusiastic about bringing library services to all members of the community, and comfortable working with diverse populations including people of all ages, backgrounds, dispositions, and abilities. The purpose of this position is to provide exemplary customer service to library patrons, conduct and direct proper circulation of library materials, and perform related administrative duties.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED
Two years of responsible customer service experience within the area of assignment
Must pass physical
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to communicate with customers in Spanish
Experience working in a library
Proficient skills using Microsoft Word and Excel
One or more years of cash handling experience
Ability to work evenings and weekends
Ability to work at/travel to various locations
Ability to work a flexible schedule.
The Customer Service Representative II job responsibilities include:
Provides friendly, efficient, and professional service to customers, in-person, by telephone, and via email
Compiles and submits statistical data
Checks library materials in and out to customers
Answers general customer questions regarding library policy, procedures, and customer accounts
Provides customers with information about Library services and programs
Explains and demonstrates use of catalog, copy machines, printers, etc
Issues library cards to new customers and replacement cards as needed
Operates a cash register, conducts customer payment transactions, maintains a cash drawer, and completes daily deposits
Sorts, processes, shelves, and assists with other general library materials inventory management duties
Answers basic reference, reader's advisory, and general usage questions
Assists with programs and outreach events as needed
Performs other related duties as assigned
Working Conditions and Physical Demand
Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking and repetitive motions.
Light Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work.
