Machinist
About the role
Muon seeks a Machinist (Junior level ) to join our Team. You'll own the machined parts the team depends on — embedded between engineering and the machine shop. Design reviews on Tuesday, dialing in fixturing on Wednesday, owning first-article inspection on Friday. Working with world class senior level engineering, scientists and machinists you will be challenged to push your skills to the next level. You will be one of the points of contact for structure and tooling hardware as it moves from CAD to chips.
This position is fully on-site at our San Jose office, five days per week.
Responsibilities
Program and operate CNC mills and lathes for flight components
Sit in engineering design and planning reviews
Plan fixturing, tooling, and inspection
Own first-article and in-process QC for hardware
Document via MES; write non-conformance tickets; maintain traceability
Qualifications
Programming 3 axis CNC mills; CAM (Fusion 360, MasterCAM, or similar)
Minimum of 1 year working in a machine shop or trade school training
Must be able to lift 50 lb
Must be ready to learn!
Nice-to-have Skills
Programming 4 & 5 axis CNC mills; CAM (Fusion 360, MasterCAM, or similar)
Haas controller experience & Fanuc
U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual (ITAR)
Forklift experience
Salary
The salary range for this role is $25 - $40 per hour, plus a competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will be determined based on skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location as assessed during the interview process.
