Objective of the Role

The Product Manager IC5, Merchant Experience Platform is a senior individual contributor accountable for the vision, strategy, and measurable outcomes of NetPay Manager and the broader digital merchant experience. The role will evolve Manager into the primary platform through which merchants understand and manage their relationship with NetPay across payments, deposits, reconciliation, disputes, account administration, self-service, and access to additional products and services. This PM defines the long-term direction and 6-12 month strategy for the area, shapes priorities across teams, identifies platform capabilities that unlock broader company goals, and leads complex cross-functional initiatives through influence rather than direct authority. The role has no direct people-management responsibility, but is expected to be a trusted product leader for senior stakeholders and a mentor and reference for other Product Managers.

Main Responsibilities

Product Vision & Strategy: Own and communicate the long-term vision and 6-12 month strategy for the Merchant Experience Platform. Define the north-star outcome, OKRs, roadmap, sequencing, and tradeoffs, and use the product area to shape broader business and product priorities.

Merchant Insight & Product Craft: Set a high bar for product discovery and craft by combining qualitative research, behavioral data, market insight, and usability testing. Translate ambiguous merchant problems into clear product decisions, incremental solutions, and explicit success and failure criteria.

Platform Strategy & Organizational Enablement: Build Manager as a coherent, scalable platform rather than a collection of features. Identify reusable capabilities, shared journeys, and integration patterns that enable other product teams to deliver value through a consistent merchant experience while reducing duplication and fragmentation.

Data-Driven Decision Making: Make analytics central to strategy, prioritization, launches, and iteration. Define success, guardrail, and diagnostic metrics; ensure instrumentation is built into delivery; use experiments and advanced analysis where appropriate; and turn both positive and negative results into clear strategic next steps.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Execution: Orchestrate execution across Product, Technology, Design, Data, Business, Operations, Marketing, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Security. Align multiple teams and dependencies, navigate complex product and business scenarios, proactively mitigate risk, and maintain clarity with senior stakeholders throughout execution.

Adoption, Self-Service & Growth: Improve activation, engagement, task completion, retention, and merchant self-service across the platform. Reduce operational friction and support dependency while increasing discovery and adoption of relevant NetPay capabilities, products, and services.

Leadership & Influence: Act as the voice of the merchant and a trusted product leader across the organization. Resolve cross-team misalignment, influence executives, engineering leaders, partners, and vendors, keep dependent teams aligned on platform direction, mentor product peers, and help raise the bar for product practice without direct people management.

Required Knowledge and Experience

7+ years of product management experience, with a strong track record of owning complex, strategic product areas or platforms and repeatedly delivering measurable outcomes across short- and long-term horizons.

Demonstrated ability to define and communicate product vision, strategy, north-star metrics, OKRs, roadmaps, sequencing, and tradeoffs grounded in deep customer understanding and business objectives.

Mastery of product craft across discovery, problem framing, product briefs/PRDs, usability testing, incremental delivery, go-to-market planning, launch discipline, and post-launch learning.

Advanced analytical capability, including defining success and guardrail metrics, product instrumentation, funnel and behavioral analysis, experimentation, and intellectually honest interpretation of results.

Strong platform thinking and technical fluency, with the ability to partner deeply with engineering on web platforms, APIs, data flows, identity and permissions, shared services, integrations, and scalable reusable capabilities.

Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives and align multiple teams without direct authority, including Technology, Design, Data, Business, Operations, Marketing, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Security.

Experience with merchant-facing B2B digital products, SaaS, fintech, payments, or financial operations is strongly preferred; familiarity with acquiring, settlements, reconciliation, disputes, or merchant servicing is a plus.

Excellent executive communication, negotiation, and influence skills; comfortable engaging C-suite and senior leaders, customers, vendors, and external partners, and mentoring other Product Managers.

High autonomy, judgment, and ownership, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities and dependencies, proactively mitigate risks, and deliver under demanding timelines with minimal supervision.
