HGV Technician
Role: HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic
Location: Kensington, W14 8PT
Hours: 45 hours per week | 9 hours per day between 09:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday
Salary: between £45,372.23 and £53,436.24 pa DOE
Do you enjoy working on vehicles and take pride in delivering high-quality, reliable workmanship? We’re looking for a skilled and dependable HGV Technician to join our Aftermarket team.
This hands-on role is ideal for someone who values doing a job well, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to be part of a supportive team. You’ll play a key role in maintaining and repairing refuse collection vehicles, helping ensure they’re safe, compliant, and ready to serve our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on chassis and mounted equipment
Service vehicles to VOSA standards and support preparation for MOT inspections
Complete body and chassis repairs in line with Department of Transport specifications
Maintain accurate records and update job information in company systems
Build positive relationships with customers, including working independently at customer sites
Ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
Follow health and safety procedures and carry out risk assessments as required
Take part in training and development to build your skills and knowledge
About You:
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance
Experience in commercial vehicle repair and servicing
Confident in diagnosing faults and identifying effective solutions
Understanding of electronics, hydraulics, and wiring diagrams
Strong communication and customer service skills
Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload
Willingness to travel and work flexibly, including overtime when needed
Experience with electric vehicles, IRTEC qualification, or an HGV Class 2 licence would be an advantage
