ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Head of IT & Cybersecurity to own corporate technology and information security for a publicly traded, ~500-employee company that develops and builds data center infrastructure. This is a dual-mandate executive role: roughly half the job is running a modern, SaaS-first corporate IT function (ERP, collaboration, endpoint, ITSM, integrations), and the other half is serving as the company's senior security officer, accountable for our cybersecurity posture and public-company compliance obligations, including SOX ITGC and SEC cybersecurity disclosure readiness.

You will lead a team of 5+ across IT operations and security, set the technology roadmap with senior leadership, and scale the function as the company grows. This is a leader-who-builds role: you will set strategy at the executive level and stay close enough to the systems to make sound architectural and vendor decisions. Day-to-day end-user support is delivered by your team and managed service partners — your job is to lead, structure, and continuously improve that capability, not to staff the helpdesk.

What You'll Do

Technology Strategy & Architecture

+  Develop and execute a multi-year IT strategy and architecture roadmap aligned to the company's growth plans.

+  Evaluate emerging technologies and platform consolidation opportunities that improve business performance and reduce risk.

+  Own platform integration strategy — APIs, data flows, and single-source-of-truth architecture across ERP, billing, contract management, and adjacent systems — including testing and acceptance methodologies.

Cybersecurity & Public-Company Compliance

+  Serve as the company's senior security officer: own strategy, operations, and board/audit-committee reporting for information security.

+  Implement and maintain enterprise security controls, including endpoint protection, MFA, SSO, privileged access management, and vulnerability management and patching.

+  Own security and IT compliance programs across SOX ITGC, SOC 2, and PCI as applicable; lead audit preparation (internal and third-party) and drive timely remediation of findings.

+  Lead incident response, maintain response and disclosure-readiness plans consistent with SEC cybersecurity rules, and manage MSSP and third-party security partners.

IT Operations

+  Oversee corporate infrastructure, networks, and SaaS application portfolio for performance, reliability, and security.

+  Run an effective end-user computing and support function through your team, with clear SLAs and IT operations KPIs.

+  Ensure systems and applications comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Team Leadership

+  Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing IT and security team (currently 5+), defining structure and headcount needs as the company scales.

+  Foster a culture of accountability and continuous learning through mentorship, professional development, and role clarity.

+  Manage relationships and performance of external vendors, MSPs/MSSPs, and consultants, including contract negotiation.

Business Partnership & Delivery

+  Partner with senior management and department heads to integrate technology into business operations smoothly.

+  Own the IT project portfolio: prioritization, budgeting, resource allocation, on-time delivery, and post-implementation review.

+  Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and external technology vendors and partners.

ABOUT YOU

10+ years of progressive IT experience, including 5+ years leading combined IT and security functions; experience at a publicly traded company (SOX environment) strongly preferred.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's/MBA or security certifications (CISSP, CISM) a plus.

Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud and SaaS platforms, and cybersecurity; deep familiarity with SaaS-first corporate environments.

Hands-on experience owning compliance frameworks and audits: SOX ITGC, SOC 2, and PCI, including third-party audit leadership.

Proven delivery of complex systems programs — ERP, customer billing, ITSM, collaboration/telephony, and contract management platforms.

Experience with platform integrations, APIs, and single-source-of-truth data architecture, plus disciplined testing and acceptance practices.

Demonstrated IT budgeting and vendor negotiation experience.

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder skills across technical and non-technical audiences, up to board level.
